I love a good premium cigar every once and a while. And I smoke a cigarette here and there too. But nothing beats a great cigar. I know that some people can get addicted to the stuff, and that's rough. I also know that for some people it is possible to smoke socially and not have to worry about it. My .02

"HEY YOU! YEAH YOU OVER THERE! PUT THAT THING OUT.....YOU'RE KILLING MY LUNGS!!!"
Couldn't have said it any better :D

Smoking is just a disgusting, useless and expensive habit. Its positive effects on the body are (nearly) zero, while the negative effects should be reason enough to never start with it.

I don't see the use of ruining my body :)

I smoke about once a month, maybe less. I'm glad that I'm forced to go outside when I do it because I know I wouldn't want my litle brothers around a whole bunch of smoke.

Still, if this was a qusetion that only had 2 possible answers, I'd call myself a non-smoker. And with that, I've never understood why so many non-smokers have such harsh feelings toward smokers.

As long as they're outside or in their own car, why does it matter what they do?

I used to smoke whenever I went out, but now I've cut off the habit completely.

<< ive heard the sad stories...and ive seen the studies...but from personal experience, i cant say nicotine is addictive. maybe im just a stronger person than most... >>

Some people don't have the nicotine-addiction gene or whatever, but most do...and so most get addicted.

And to answer the poll...nope, never have and never will.

I've been smoking for 8 years, my lung feels fine.

?i dont mean to call you guys liars...but i dont believe nicotine is addictive...

If nicotine isn't addictive, why are so many people addicted to it?

Don't smoke, never tried it, though recently I've found myself tempted. Almost everybody I hang around with smokes including the woman I started seeing recently, and I wish she'd quit. :(

I would have to disagree with that. My cigars certainly have a great effect on my body. Relaxation, reduced stress, time away from the wife... :D

Some people just have a higher resistence,

it's like people who drink, there are those that have a higher tolerence for alcohol, than others.

Smoke?

Not a CHANCE. Nasty Nasty NASTY

The older I get, the more set in my ways I get. I'm not even paying mind to gals that smoke anymore. Just one more stoopid thing that I don't need to deal with. Usually I'm pretty good about dealing with things. This is not one of them. No room for negotiation here.

Smoke in your rig? Fine. Smoke in your house? Fine. Just don't ask to do it in my rig, my house or anywhere I'm couped up w/ ya. Nasty.

 I smoke, have for about 10 years now. I've quit a few times, the last time was for about 9 months...then life just got too stressful to deal with so I started back :( Been smoking this time for about 2-3 months. I would like to quit but I just really enjoy it sometimes. Maybe when life gets back to "normal" :D
