Hey guys! I can't really decide if I like cleartype or not on my 1704FPT screen. Sometimes I think it is easier to read text, but other times it doesn't.

Do you guys have any input? ClearType seems a little weird at first, but I think it is growing on me. I don't think I really have to strain myself to read Standard text, but I guess I can give this a whirl.

What do you guys use?

Have you tried the ClearType tuner? You're running DVI and native res, right?

Oh yeah, I should have said that before. Yes, I run 1280x1024 (native resolution to this monitor) and it's connected via DVI.

Oh, and no, I have never heard of ClearType tuner!

Thats a BGR monitor, you have to adjust it with the clear type tuner.

if you mean pixelated by "sharp", then i agree. i have cleartype and the font is much sharper than it is on CRT.

I've always wondered - for those of you who enjoy their aliased non-Cleartype text, do you also think non-AA graphics look better than 4x AA in games because the lines of polygons are 'sharper'?

i just enabled it, and i like it now!

I just built a dual DVI monitor setup, and cleartype seems better now that it used to be.

Is it really just because my signal is over DVI? I have two Viewsonic VX715 monitors and a 6600GT card.

Yep you need DVI.
