Poll: Do you own/use a radar detector?

Don't have one yet, but as soon as I get the new car, it'll be one of my first purchases. I have to do my research on them though...do I really need/want a $400 one like a Valentine One or K-40, or will a 100-200 piece do just as good for me. decisions, decisions.

Got one after my first speeding ticket...$115 for going 46 in a 35. Surprisingly, a majority of the times my radar detector has gone off (where it wasn't a false alarm) has been in the city (usually in 50mph and under areas) and never on the highway.

Radar detector only cost me $100...less than the cost of a ticket.

id say 1 in 500.
i think youd get bigger numbers asking around here. there are a lot of car-oriented people.
in jersey, i dont see them much at all (nor do i fully understand the reason for wanting one)
