<< do you need to know how do cook to use it ? >>

absolutely not... the grill is basically for ppl who CANNOT cook! :)

all you need to do is throw something on the grill (burger, steak, chicken, etc), close it, wait for the appropiate amount of time, take them out and eat! and I am not simplifying, this is all you need to do...

PS. I am not a salesperson for the grill... :)

<< I have one but the coating kinda peeled off. So I rarely use it now. I plan to buy a new, bigger one. Or get two medium-sized ones. They rock![/qThat happens if you use a rough material to clean off the gunk. You should only use a damp cloth!

<< Actually, I have a smoker. The only problem with smokers is that you don't get instant gratification, you have to wait for hours and hours. >>

Untrue. They also cause cancer.

<< America Online and the George Foreman grill should get together and form a company that would become a monopoly for
dumba$$ consumers
>>

What the hell does that mean? This isn't an abtronic. Millions of people use the GFG and as you can tell many people like/love them. For the price you pay it's steal and like others have said it's one of the best kitchen appliances ever. I really believe that. I have no interest in cooking or waiting for food to cook. I can come home at lunch throw in a frozen burger patty and 10 min later I'm eating a burger.

<< Cleaning tip: Heat grill up, then uplug it. While it's still hot, mist it with a spray bottle and let all the water run into the fat tray. Wipe with a paper towel, and you're done. >>

Mine has about two weeks of crud built up on it - or it did. I just heated it now and spilled water down on the bottom grate and waited a min and it all came off perfectly. You THA MAN! I thought I was going to have to do some serious wiping here but it came off like a breeze.

I really want a gas grill, but don't have the money. I've been eyeing this george foreman grill for a while now...I might have to take the plunge.

*edit* is this the one that everyone has? 14.99 seems like a good price. usually 19.99 or more, I think.

I have the family size George Foreman which I won at an employee shindig which I didn't attend (that pissed off quite a few people).

It's still sitting in the box :(

I owned a similar grill, one before George Foreman Grill came to be. I didn't like it because chicken or fish would end up rubbery. So, I gave it to the salvation army. How's your grilled fish with GFG?

That's the small size one... If u take a look at it in person, you'll see it's only enough to cook maybe 1 burger patty, nothing big...

So you might want to get a family size one... also temperature control is a good idea too (you want to turn the temperature down to cook something that's thick, so u dont burn the surface and leave the middle rare. But will have to cook a little longer)...

I sense an intense amount of bitterness and hostility. Where does it come from?

I BBQ much better than that little grill does. And besides... there's more satisfaction in actually putting work into it, ya lazy ass. ;) I wanna go camping and cook real BBQ over a pit with a rotissery or something.

Hmmm.. A few people I talked to said their college doesn't allow GFG's and other hot plate-like appliances in the dorms because they are a fire hazard.

I don't have one, but I've used one at a friends house before. It worked pretty well, and was fast, but the good ol' fashion outdoor BBQ tastes much better. In fact, my dad is cooking BBQ chicken outside as we speak. yum.

<< This isn't meant to be a replacement bbq. >>

True.
