I sure do. Not much of the new stuff. But I would say about half the music I listen to is Christian music from around 1990-present. Good stuff.

Not anymore. I used to be more into popular music, and so I listened to some Xian that was included in that group. For instance Jars of Clay "Flood" ("If I can't swim after 40 days, and my mind is crushed by the crashing waves lift me up...&quot😉

But now I'm into classic rock. If you can find a Christian group that comes close to Floyd, the Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Zeppelin, etc. I'd like to be introduced.

I find most christian music isn't really christian. In my opnion it is just like secular music with very unbiblical views of God and the christian life. There are some exceptions (Fernando Ortega, Michael Card, and some others) but I personally would rather have a nice hymn cd of my church congregation singing. Unfortunately I don't have that and most choirs are just a big show. It's so hard to find truly God honoring music.

Not really sure what you mean by Christian music? I like Christmas carrols and the songs related to that. Isn't this Christian music? It certainly is Moslem or Quaker music!

I don't really listen to Christian rock, but I do like Jars of Clay. I like the acoustic sound of some of their songs.

the closest i'v come to tolerating that nonsense is if one of my fave 'secular' artists locates jeezus under something or other and their artistic focus, lyrics, and sound undergoes a stark, though usually, temporary change i.e. bob dylan. the poor guy
has never recovered

LOL. I just checked out the Guster website to see if they're touring anywhere near me, and checked out the "about guster" section. First Q&A on the FAQ:

<< Q: Are you guys a Christian band?

A:Rather than answer this one with a simple yes/no, we suggest you check the following sources for clues:
1) Brian's last name -- "Rosenworcel."
2) Any photo of Ryan where you can see his profile.
3) The Guster Backstage Contract Rider, where we stipify that "the dressing room must be furnished with plenty of borscht, noodle kugels, potato latkes, gefilte fish and homemade rugulah for dessert."

No

I think I listened to some creed a while back, but not lately. I prefer my satanic death rock :Q 😛

There are all varieties of Christian bands out there. We have a local band that is awesome. Many of you want hard stuff, try P.O.D. (yes they are Christian) or Skillet.

A band is a Christian band if they profess a Christian faith in their life and music. Such as U2, Bono is a professed Christian but they do not mention Christianity or a love of God or Jesus in their songs.

Creed claims they are not a "Christian" band but say that their songs are "spiritual."

Don't forget to vote.

I am not particularly religious and generally disinterested in religious music, but one radio station here in Oklahoma City plays some kind of underground Christian music that actually sounds really good - you would presume it was just a regular college radio station except that once in a while you hear Christian lyrics. I can only deal with it once in a while, though, since as a lawyer I have no business finding religion -
hee hee . . .

Yup, Michael W. Smith rocks, and DC Talk rocks somethin fierce...

ALot of the negative comments seem to be coming from people who never heard anything recently....PM Me and I'll send you a song or two...

Do Marylin Manson, NIN, Static-X, Fear Factory, MSI, Rob Zombie and Power Man 5000 count as Christian music?

Doh..didn't think so, guess I have to vote no.

Not routinely, but there is some that I really like.

Amy Grant's is good. Russ Taff is a favorite. A group no one's ever heard of called Barnabas is fantastic and they sound just like RUSH.

Stryper was a joke.

Biggs,

You mentioned Sixpence they are a band that has had decent fame in pop culture AND they are a Christian band. I actually met them once when they came through Kansas. It was just before they had made on the charts, so I knew who they were within the "Christian music community" but they were not mainstream artists at that time. They were however very awesome Christians, and were proud to call themselves a Christian band.

Also, a reply to qacwac:

Yes, some Christian bands don't have the most perfect theology in their lyrics. But their hearts are in the right place and that's what matters. Plus, writing song lyrics and music is not easy, so they may have to compromise in order to make things fit.
