In my mind rap isn't something you can "fake" talentwise, like pop with Britney Spears and all those boy bands. A bad rapper wont sell records, period. Nelly and Ja Rule don't count as rappers, so don't use them as an example. He has an uncanny ability to write clever, although controversial, lyrics and his accomplishments speak for themselves.
I don't agree. 50 cent, for instance, doesn't sell skill but his image. Britney spears has more musical ability in her left foot than 50 cent in his wildest dreams. People can make it in nearly any industry without any real skill/talent if they have the right following.

We gonna party like... it's your birthday.

I think all rappers are worthless.

Why? Only the bling-bling retards? Yeah, they are worthless but there is MUCH better hiphop/rap out there.

Rappers are only people who couldn't make it anywhere else in life. And white wannabe rappers are just a disgrace.

It took serious drive, determination, and raw skill for Eminem to get where he is today. He is amazing.

I believe he can say that he adds up to be something worthwhile and important.

He's alright. I guess I'm the only one who thinks he has gotten worse as time goes on. He used to rap about off the wall stuff, and it was good for laughs. Now he raps about the same tired junk like every other mainstream rapper.

Worthwhile? Important? He isn't worth the air he breathes.

Being white sure didn't hurt. Everyone needs a gimmick. But fat, stupid, big pants, backwards pants, and dead have already been done. I think Dre was hoping that Vanilla Ice had been forgotten, and boy was he right.

I like a number of songs, and if his movie is remotely accurate to what really happened, then I have some respect for him, as he did work to get where he is, although I don't think he works any harder than any average joe, hence doesn't really deserve the success he's enjoying. 😛

But yea I don't hate him and I do enjoy some of his stuff, NOT ALL but a fair amount.

He's such a fake. His movie makes him out to be off the hard streets of detroit. He's from surburbia. He wouldn't be nothing if it wasn't for Dr. Dre - the guy who actually has talent.
Uhm, I voted no. 🙂

Hate to break it to you but Eminem was already a huge underground hip hop star before he ever met up with Dre.

yep...he was a really huge underground star, and that's how dr. dre recognized him...you can't deny his success....

i vote yes...i actually do like his songs, and most who don't like him is cuz of his controversial stuff and hate him cuz he's successful...well, get your ass off your chair and study or do something instead of hating successful entertainers who's only wants to entertain...wonder what he did to u to have u hate him eh?
