I had to take the Crossfire solutions out of the poll because the fanATIcs thought it would be somehow "good" to misrepresent their (non)ownersip of Crossfire.

That is a daming statement... I don't believe Nvidia "sells" to the public fromt their Santa Clara address? So, how can I get SLI for free or Xfire for that matter 😛

Hardware reviewer for at least a semi-reputable site
Game Developer
Hardware manufacturer (Asus, MSI, etc)
Have a friend that works there
5 finger discount

Take your pick.

AND, you ARE able to get cards PURCHASED from Santa Clara, as I said earlier, but it's a select bunch that can.

Personally, I haven't bought a video card for my system since my GF3 Ti500.

I have a 7800GTX NVidia card, single, and I love it. I was disappointed with the X1800XL benchmarks and wasn't going to wait for the X1800XT to come out AND the price to come down.

That said. . .

Rollo is the biggest troll I have ever seen in any of the discussion boards I've been on. This includes biggees like Slashdot and Fark, and a host of BBSs. I mean I've read through post after post of this NVidia nonsense and I swear Rollo believes that it will lead him to salvation as surely as Bevets believes Christ is his savior.

This thread is worthless. Every thread started by Rollo is petitio principii. The conclusions of his arguments are the same as his premisses. . .

Well. As soon as I have £800 I'll be picking up some X1900XTX's. Although, with any luck, by the time I can get that together, they'll have dropped in price. Having read through this thread, I'd say I'm one of the closest to having Crossfire here. And. Well. I'm only a motherboard down the tracks, which, by the way, has yet to let me down.

slightly off topic. Who cares where Rollo gets his cards. Jesus. If he was given them free, or if it he paid for them (I don't care which, TBH, I bet a lot of people bitching about him possibly getting them for free are just having e-penis envy..:S), it doesn't make his opinion any less valid. It is, after all, an opinion. He could sit there and scream about SLI being great until he was blue in the face, but I just wouldn't be listening, because I plain don't care what he prefers. I like ATi, always have done, and no amount of nV fans/employees/rabidzombifiedfans will tell me otherwise.

If he is employed by nVidea, so what, he gets stuff cheaper (Or even free, whatever) than you. Just means he's in a better position. You'd all be exactly the same, were you in his position. If nV gave me 7800 SLI for less than retail, or even free, I'd probably find no problem with the setup, because for what I put in to getting it (Nothing) and got back (7800 SLI) there would be no room for me to complain, as indeed, there would be no room for the rest of you to complain.

Also, Rollo, I'd be damned impressed if it was Carmon Electra that gave you your SLI after leaping from a green Huey or something 😀

My next purchase will be nForce5, AM2 and two G80s and the sooner the better.
