It is a good idea to stick to one pet name like "babe". That way you reduce the risk of calling the current SO by the name of a previous SO.

Lol,I know that it's easy for that to happen but I hate when it does, what's worse are people who don't really call you anything for fear of calling you by somebody else's name

"Schmabbles?" ROFL!! That's really cute, though. :) <--big warm fuzzy hugs for everyone!!!

I call my SO a different cutie name every day, and I usually combine four or five of them:

*RING*
Her: Hello?
Me: Hey there pookie-pie-baby-doll-sugar-cube-gumdrop!
Her: WTF do you want?
Me: I just wanted to her the melodious chirping of your cherubic voice, my love
Her: I'm busy...call back....*click*

And we go from there.....;) I rarely call her by her name. BabyDoll, SugarLump, Hottentottens <---she's um, majormelonly gifted. :D

I had a good friend in college who did something similar. He would call any girl that he couldn't remember their name "gorgeous" or "beautiful" or something similar. It would be like "hey gorgeous, blah blah blah".

Must have worked pretty good. He hooked up with more girls than any other guy I know.

Hey you. Hootie McBoob. Those tend to work.

I also once used Mary Jane RottenCrotch...she hated that.

My fiance calls me honey (creative eh?). I call her "J"... which is just the first letter in her name. I don't recall the last time she called me by my name... hmm... now I wonder if she ever knew it. :Q

Oh yeah some times I call her boss or ma'am. Like:

Her: Stop touching me!
Me: Yes ma'am.

Her: go grab the kids and give'em their baths.
Me: No problem, you're the boss.
