No cell phone yet. I leave the house to get away from the phone and the last thing I want is an electronic leash.

to all these people who call it an "electronic leash" or whatever, you're full of sh!t.

these "electronic leashes" you speak of do have power buttons. and *gasp* those power buttons can turn the damn things off, if you want to!

i personally dont have a cell phone. i used to, until it broke. i am getting a new one this summer. definitely a nice convenience at times. and i never feel "reigned in" by my "electronic leash".

"cell phones are useless"

Just a friggn' electronic leash is you ask me, and I don't need another monthly payment.

Agreed. I don't WANT people to get ahold of me at all times!

Damn people! You are aware that you don't have to answer it if you don't want to? LOL @ "electornic leash".
Electronic leash is true if only your parents call ...

My teammates call me on it all the time to find out schedule, etc. I really do use it a lot for those reasons because I'm not always at home (when they call).

If you had your cell phone number listed in your employee information page where you work, you would get a whole new appreciation for the term "electronic leash"!

I have to post my pager number in my employee profile, and some of my more irrating customers will think nothing of paging you at 5 AM on a Sunday to ask you a question! :disgust:

I have a company supplied cell phone. I could use it for personal use, but I don't. When I leave the house in the morning it goes on my belt and when I return home in the afternoon it comes off. I don't answer it 75% of the time regardless of who is calling, be it my boss, a customer or the dispatch office. I consider it an annoyance.

BTW, at home I only answer the phone, landline, about 10% of the time unless I'm expecting a call. Yes, I don't particularly care for phones period because I don't feel a need to be connected to the world in that way. If it's good news I will find out soon enough and if it's bad news I will find out too soon whether I answer the phone or not.

YES!

If i were to make my long distance calls on a regular phone I would have had to sell my computer by now!

Yes and I want to kick it in the ass. A few days ago my phone(I'm a Sprint user) decided to move its clock back for an hour. My understanding is that these phones get their time from the Sprint network, so I feel I'm being shafted. I'm not motivated enough to fix it on my own(if that's possible, that is). Sprint's clock sucks, and I'm too lazy.
