I luv BB too, if you know your prices some great deals can be had on occasion. Also I never had a prob returning stuff or pricematching or with their rebates.

At least so far.....

We've only had them here for a couple years now so I'm still getting a feel for them. I've never been thrilled with their customer service the few times I've had to return things. Even inexpensive, unopened items took ridiculously long. I also wasn't nuts about the fact that a lot of their floor people didn't know much about the products they were selling and only seemed to care about promoting the extended warranty plans. This was in comparison to the great experiences I'd previously had at Circuit City, which AT THE TIME had some great salesmen who actually knew their products very well (although that changed earlier this year.)

In spite of that I generally like them a lot overall though. It's a great store to browse in (our Circuit City is rapidly aging although they're about to open up a brand new one) and the salespeople have been nice even if they don't know a whole lot about the products. Their prices are usually competitive from a retail standpoint and they generally have a lot of good deals via open box stuff. And their DVD collection is among the best of the major retailers.

I go to Best Buy all the time. I don't really give a crap about their commercials. Their music selection is good. Their prices are fair. All good to me!

I got fed up with best buy's customer service. I wanted to buy an Antec Case because it was on sale but it was kept behind their memory counter but off to the side so it wasn't exactly behind the counter. I figured since it was off to the side a little I could just grab it myself. When I tried to get it an employee told me that I had to sign in and wait in line. Of course nobody was around and I was the only name on the list not crossed out. So I signed in and waited for a few minutes and those asshats were standing around talking, so I asked one of them If I could just get the case and be on my way but oh no they said "Wait until we call your name" in a sarcastic rude attitude. I asked him what the big deal was about just getting the case and handing it to me, he goes "I don't work in the computer department you're going to have to wait until someone from the computer department comes".
After 5 minutes of waiting a computer CSR comes over to the counter and joins the conversation with his buddies and I asked him if he could get me the case and again they told me I had to wait. Keep in mind they are just talking about non busniess related garbage and there are no customers anywhere. I finally got upset and asked that asshat if I could speak with his manager and have his full name. next thing I knew he grabbed the case and I was out the door.

After that little incident I had a conversation with their manager about the rude employees and I stopped shopping at best buy ever since. I take all my busniess to Fry's since they opened a location up about 10 minutes from my house. so yeah I hate best buy.

Hate best buy and I go there to shop only when I'm in some way ripping them off. I'm nice to employees and such, but they make no money off of me.

Depends on the store. The Best Buy stores in Waterford and East Lansing are great, I've never had any problems at all there. The Southfield Best Buy is the most horrible shopping experience EVER. Rude, sarcastic salespeople who don't give a $hit about anything. They stand around holding personal conversations with other employees, and when you ask them for help they look at you like you're from Mars and say "Scuse me, I'm BUSY" in the snottiest voice imaginable, then go right back to talking about da club last night

. This happens every time I'm in there.

I will never ever shop at the Southfield one again, but the other ones I've shopped at are OK in my book.

You're making things too hard for yourself. If you don't like Best Buy, don't bother shopping there. I'm sure you'll find better services and deals over at Good guys.

See sig. Both suck ass. Only Circuit City is good, but that changed for the worse once they started paying wages and not commision.

The one around here(Augusta,Ga) sucks. I don't think I've ever been there and gotten anything that was on sale. It's like they run a hot sale on something, and only stock 5 of the items during the entire duration of the sale. The one time I was able to get a rain check (100gb WD HDD) they were out of stock for 2 months. After calling weekly to get updates I finally e-mailed customer service. I was basiclly told "If we have it, we have it....if we don't, fvck off". So yeah, I hate BB.

Used to Work at a BB service center. Those awards are actually real. The rank Each regions stores montly, Quarterly , and yearly on a scorecard which keeps track of all this crap.

My soulmate:D

I only shop @ BB when I can make them pricematch someone else's stuff, I could use other stores for the pricematch, but make an effort only to pricematch @ BB & purchase no retail priced items...

well i love their employees ... one of them anyway ;)

i dunno though, i dont shop there too much. but ive applied at both locations in tucson and their managers are fvcking stupid (as with most places).. the first one took like weeks to even talk to the lady again after she called me back... and then of course once i met her she never called me back, i guess thats my own fault :p then, the manager at the second location called me back and did a quick little phone interview.. called me back a couple days later when i wasnt home and left a message saying he wanted to set up an interview. so i called every day for a week straight (maybe a little longer) and he was always "busy" or not working. so finally i told them to have him call me back and he never did. so i gave up. i dunno maybe its just me. oh well.

I used to like the CD-R and new release DVD deals.

Now I'm living overseas (with an APO address) and you can have things shipped to APO addresses (for free, no tax); HOWEVER, if you don't have a PSC or a CMR in the address line the on-line system will NOT accept the address. I've been going back-and-forth with Best Buy for two weeks now to make a few changes to their system so a customer can put a simple APO address in...only after I told them that I work with 60 people who make buku bucks and love to buy gadgets did they start to get semi-serious about getting the problem fixed.

Bottom line...they suck.
