POLL: Do you hate Best Buy?

I personally hate them. I hate their commercials, their employees, their policies, their prices, everything.

Sometimes Best Buy is great. Before I had the ability to order stuff on line, most of my computer hardware came from deals at Best Buy with mail in rebates.

my dad hates them because they ruined his 20+ years of exceptional credit. He hates them so much, that even though best buy is a 5 minute bike ride from my house, i'm forbidden to buy anything from there.

I only go there if I know exactly what I need and how much it is. Forget trying to get someone to help you. They would have to stop chatting with the other employees or hang up their cell phones.

I have had better experiences with CC. If CC has the same exact product as BB, I would definitely go to CC. May BB rot in hell.

Explain how they ruined it.

The one where I used to live at kicked ass, they all knew who I was and they treated me like no one else. Great customer service, and that's what makes a retail operation. The one here at my university SUCKS MY ASS. They are a bunch of fvcking tards who wouldn't take my cell phone back even though I bought a 2 year PSP plan from them. I had to drive to another BB around town. :|

I hate Best Buy right now because I'm thinking of buying a DV camcorder for our trip next month but I didn't get their 10% off coupon.:|

I don't know the complete story because my dad is very private about our finances and doesn't think his children should know anything about them, but I picked up on bits and pieces here and there. Apparently the post office screwed up with a check, and my dad was paying monthly payments on my sisters laptop at the time, and he called them up and explained what was going on, and they said ok, just mail another one and we'll make a note of it. A month later he finds that he's getting charged late fee's, he calls them up, spends hours on the phone and no one will cooperate with him.

That's pretty much all the facts I know, I guess he refused to pay the late fee's and they gave him bad credit or something. We bought something a couple months later and it caused a lot of problems.

well if he would have paid the late fee he would still have great credit.

anyway i doubt that it ruined his credit. maybe with bestbuy but if he paid off the laptop then it shouldnt matter that much.

I don't know exactly what happened, but my dad's a stubborn person. We're set financially, so money wasn't the issue. He has something against corporations and I guess he was willing to face the consequences instead of bending over for them, no matter how logical it would've been. I'm only 18 so I don't really know how credit works, maybe you should ask him because I sure as hell dont' want to 🙂

Maybe he was referring to music CDs...

I know Bestbuy has great deals on music, thats about all I'd go there fore, $10 for most of the recent CDs.

Ok... I'm referring to CDR's =)

I love Best Buy. I go every week and buy my DVDs from them. From time to time, I also buy computer stuff from them. They usually have some pretty girls working there and I sometimes try to get in their checkout line so I can see them closer.😱

They're close, reasonably priced on goods that i need immediate purchase satisfaction on and mark down dvds the first week. I wish they had a better music selection but hey..

Screw Best Buy. Last couple of times I've tried they've been out of what I went for, they must wait until they run out of an item and only then put it on sale. Now I might stop in if I'm in the area, but will never make a special trip.

No, they're finally opening up a store here - it'll be nice to have a dedicated electronics store.

I love Best Buy. My friends make fun of me and joke that the employees know me by name. I don't buy everything there. Obviously, they don't have the computing selection (or prices) that you can find online. But many other things are great to buy at Best Buy.
