Poll: do you find it unattractive when women swear?

Swearing is unattractive regardless of sex, like many others said before. I find it very offensive in messages posted here as well. Swearing shows a lack of self-control and the inability of a person to express his/herself in an educated manner. (I know how a swear-word can slip out when you hit yourself on the thumb with a hammer, for example, but you can train yourself to stop that even...)

English - and all other languages for that matter - is a beautiful tool of self-expression, with thousands of words that can convey your thoughts and emotions with far greater accuracy and impact than a swear-word typed in BOLD.

When a girl swears, it makes me more comfortable around her....like she doesn't care what I think of her. It also lets me let go a bit--not have to watch my own language.

btw, all my best female friends swear like sailors around me while the girlf almost never curses (in my presence at least)

Doset matter to me, my girlfreind could swear like a trucker, or never swear in her life (shes chosen the second one..). Maskes no difference

Now that you mention it, I guess it really doesn't sit well with me. I think smoking is my number one dislike, but swearing might be no 2.

but you can train yourself to stop that even...

I agree... I can count the times I've sweared this year with one hand (wait....um....I don't even need one single frieking hand)
I find there to be no need to use the strong words unless you've jammed a toe or something. There are enough relatively unoffensive words around: frieking, dang it, crud, shoot, etc.

i don't think it matter if a girl is hot or not...swearing isn't too great for me...
although if they usually don't swear and something gets them upset or something enough to swear you know she means it...
an english teacher told me words are beautiful because they have meaning...even the "bad" ones.
but if it's said every other word, it kinda loses meaning and becomes daily vocab...
that would make any word pretty apathetic coming out of the same mouth.

Are you saying that it's appropriate for men to swear and not for women? If so, I strongly disagree, but if it bothers you just as much when guys do it, then I can understand your point.

Personally, I think girls who aren't afraid to swear every now and then are cool. I don't like it when anyone swears like a sailor with teret syndrome though, unless it's in the context of humor...then anything goes. 🙂

It's not unattractive unless the swearing is in excess. It really depends on the girl though. If it's coming out of a "goody two-shoes" type-a-chick, then it might be cute, in a distorted kinda way. But if it comes from a half-assed gangsta chick, then i'd say it's just another flaw.

I'm saying I don't find men attractive swearing or not. This has nothing to do with the approriateness of swearing, jsut the attractiveness of it.

i never swear in real life, and its not because i'm a jesus freak either. i'm an atheist.

and i don't like it when women swear either, it just seems outta place when they say it.

I don't mind it if it's used as personal expression. If she's angry or frustrated or if it's used for humor purposes then it's fine.

If every other word out of her mouth is a swear word, then she needs to buy a dictionary.

<< Yep, i can't stand it when women cuss. And when any girl is around me i will never cuss, or even use vulgar words. Only excpetion is the board, i might use a few words here and there, and i can't control who reads it.

peace

In my opinion it isn't about 'swear words'. Its how she/he says it. My friends and I talk pottymouth all the time and use the EFF word in playful tone.

What I find totally unattractive is when someone use any gripe wrods in bitching griping tone.
