POLL!!! do you care about how much noise your computer makes?

Theres a certain level where it gets ridiculous - I'm not sure how loud the FX is but if its anything like some of the cheap Athlon fans I've had, its too much.

oops... wrong clicky 🙁. I meant to say that I DO care about the noise... but i think i clickd on NO. I wouldnt use a GeforeFX if it were given to me free. what I would do was push it onto some idiot on ebay and wait for the R350!!! 😀

WHAT DID YOU SAY? SPEAK LOUDER PLEASE, I CANNOT HEAR YOU ABOVE THE ROAR OF MY FANS! ME POPULAR, HAVE LOTS OF FANS! 😛

Ok, that was DUMB!

Cheers!

I care about the noise about as much as the performance (would sacrify some to keep the PC noise level low).

My machines are pretty quiet.

well i meant to click no and i clicked yes, so i guess it evens out 🙂

Generally I don't care as long as the noise level doesn't go to ridiculous levels. A GeForce FX with original cooling is out of the question.

Same here. I have spent a small fortune and a lot of hours testing and swapping 80mm fans, PSU's and HS's in three of my computers just to get them quiet. Rubber matting \ padding is the next step for me.

I run Panaflo 21db fans in both of my rigs (case & psu), and the loudest fan is the factory one on the videocard.

i hate noise, that is y i replaced all my old HD that uses ball bearing motor with the maxtor fluid drives. That killed off all the high pitched whinning which even loud music cannot cover. Some noise from the wind turbulent of the fan is acceptable as long as it is not high PITCHED!

Heck yea I care.

I setup a watercooling system on my AthlonXP just to cut the fans down to 5v. Overclocking was an afterthought. I get insane temps now, even with all of the fans running 5v. CPU temp is never above 95 F, with Tbred B chip running 1.725ghz.

I also heavily modified my Shuttle SV25 to run 7v fans across the entrie system (but that runs 24/7). I'm still not quite happy with the cooling in this box. I am still in the process of adding a vent to expell the hot PSU air.

I care. it's never off, and it's in my bedroom. I don't mind a bit of volume.. but I got a fanbus so I can control the speed of the intake and exhaust case fans. my CPU cooler is afermarket, but not loud Vantec TMD cooler. I hated my computer before with 3 uncontrolled case fans and a 7K RPM "DELTA SCREAMER CLONE" atop a CoolerMaster HHC-001. those days are gone. and never again. 😀

I dont care as long as its not extremely loud. My fans aren't what i would call quiet, sounds like a bit of a breeze is blowing through my room, but doesn't bother me at all.

Not really...I usually leave my pc on all night running p95 just to make sure no errors ever occur...my loudest fan is my fan on top of the case sucking air out...its a 80cm fan at 2800RPM and it took me a few days to get used to it but now i'm fine
