I'll take a cat any day. Dogs are smelly, annoying, & make a mess.

Cats are MUCH more pleasant to have around.

Cats

I like dogs as well, but I prefer the level of independence that cats have.

I have both, and each one finds a way to love and annoy me every day. Right now both are sitting on each side of my chair. At night, the dog sleeps between my wife and I, and the cat on the other side of me by my chest.

Burmese cat and Miniature Dachshund, btw.
