I may be on the crack or something but half my family is Canadian and I could have sworn I saw canned beer and soda up there.Originally posted by: jfall
I don't really have a choice, it's illegal to sell beer or soda in cans or plastic bottles here. It's all glass

Assuming you don't have a glass to pour it into, what do you prefer to drink from.
Personally, I hate drinking soda from a bottle and I can't stand drinking beer from a can.

jfall, that is interesting, never knew that about PEI.
beer in a bottle > beer in a can
"soda" - meh i don't think it matters much.

The bottle is ALWAYS better.
Beer and Root Beer especially but this applies to coke and sprite too.
Glass is ideal but few sodas come in glass anymore.
As an aside, I can get the large bottles of IBC at the Dollar Store.

Not so fast. There are some situations where canned beer is better. These rare exceptions are the "nitrogen" beers with the widget in the can that busts open when you crack the top. They make for a smooth, creamy beer that is draft like in quality. Guinness has a bottle like this, but it isn't as good as the canned ones.
Typically though, I go draft --> bottle ---> can.

I really miss the Coke Classic in a bottle, with real sugar, instead of the high fructose corn syrup they use in everything these days.
