Assuming you don't have a glass to pour it into, what do you prefer to drink from.

Personally, I hate drinking soda from a bottle and I can't stand drinking beer from a can.

Canned beer is making a comeback. Bottled soda is expensive. Always have a glass at the ready.

Canned for both. Just the way I am.

I never drink beer straight out of the bottle or can though so it doesn't really matter.

Everything tastes better out of a glass bottle.

but cans > plastic bottle.

Unfortunately almost no pop comes in glass here for some completely unknown reason?

Glass bottles are better for the environment too...

I really miss the Coke Classic in a bottle, with real sugar, instead of the high fructose corn syrup they use in everything these days.

Beer = Glass bottle
Soda = 2 liter bottle

I too wish they made soda in glass bottles still. The edible mold release used on plastic bottles kills the soda flavor.

The bottle is ALWAYS better.
Beer and Root Beer especially but this applies to coke and sprite too.
Glass is ideal but few sodas come in glass anymore.

As an aside, I can get the large bottles of IBC at the Dollar Store.

I don't really have a choice, it's illegal to sell beer or soda in cans or plastic bottles here. It's all glass

I may be on the crack or something but half my family is Canadian and I could have sworn I saw canned beer and soda up there.

No, your not on crack. They do have cans in Canada. I just happen to live on Prince Edward Island, the only province in Canada where it's illegal to sell cans of beer/soda

I have to drink my beer from a bottle. For soda.. I prefer a can, but for resealable sake a bottle is acceptable in travelling. Bottled just seems to go warm and flat faster for soda.

I'm hoping my husband will bring a case or two of Pepsi home from Prince Edward Island tomorrow. They only come in glass bottles.. It's the BEST!

Ya, it's kind of funny really. People seem to desire what they can't have. For example, most people on PEI love drinking Soda out of a can because you can't buy it here. And vice-versa, if someone comes to PEI they go crazy over the glass bottle because they can't get them where they live.

Not so fast. There are some situations where canned beer is better. These rare exceptions are the "nitrogen" beers with the widget in the can that busts open when you crack the top. They make for a smooth, creamy beer that is draft like in quality. Guinness has a bottle like this, but it isn't as good as the canned ones.

Typically though, I go draft --> bottle ---> can.

Actually, that nitro adds a bit of unwanted taste to it all. Some people don't mind, as nitros add carbonation to flat casks. The situations where cans are better, would be for shipping & storage. Lighter weight, plus no possible light-struck damage while sitting on the shelves. It isn't totally unvulnerable, but it does make for a much better experience overall. :)

I think I read that they are going to start using real sugar again, since the HFCS can be worse for your health if you drive 62 gallons a day.

Glass bottle > * for beer

soda doesnt really matter
