POLL: Bimmer or Beamer?

Reading Yao Ming's car thread, I noticed it was interesting that BMW cars are called "bimmer" rather than "beamer".

Everyone I know calls a BMW car a "beamer" though and in fact is the first time I've heard of the word "bimmer".

So for a BMW car, do you say "beamer" or "bimmer"? And I'm curious if geography has anything to do with it so please state where you're from.

I'm not so much concerned about what's "right", but what people think.

I say beamer here, Vancouver, Canada.

Edit: I'm asking more for pronouciation for the poll, but state what you would do written in a post.

when talking aloud, i say BMW or "beamer/beemer", even though I realize that's only referring to the motorcycles. While typing, i'll just type BMW.

I pronounce it beamer, but I write it bimmer. Most of the hardcore bimmer geeks I encounter are through non-physically-interactive mediums such as bimmer.org, so my pronounciation doesn't disrupt the pedants.

you say "BEE EMM DOUBLE U"

so, BEEMER is more correct than "bimmer"

that reminds me of when some baseball commisioner was talking about how the majority of people are in support of pete rose being in the hall of fame.

i have never heard anyone say Bimmer (pronunced with an I like in "it")

i have alaways thought it was Beemer (prounced Bee-mer)
