If you go to Berkeley, DO NOT LIVE IN UNIT 1. They've got the WORST food of all the residence halls, and the dorm food in general is barely edible. All you do is wait in the same long line as everyone else to get the same crappy food. After freshman year, I said to hell with the dorms, and got an apartment. Living in the dorms the first year is a good idea though so you don't end up being a complete loser and not meeting anyone. Try to get into Foothill.. it's luxury.

hehe sorry about that overgeneralization. a lot of my friends go to berkeley and they seem to like it, but i suspect they've all been brainwashed to think that way. probably in the drinking water? :)

and riverside has no cows... on campus! hahaha but don't tell me there are no cows nearby cuz I see them on the freeway. or at least i always used to tease my friends at riverside about it... i said it so many times i'm not even sure if that's actually true to be honest hehe

yeah just do your homework on majors and what you want for your life (e.g. fun 4 years or better job/grad school, or whatever combination of the two)

and if you're planning on med school I would advise against the UCR program because although they have a certain amount guaranteed to UCLA, you have to be the absolute cream of the crop to be considered for one of those spots. if you're not one of those in the guaranteed spots, you are really screwed because UCR doesn't have the reputation that UCB/UCLA/UCSD does.

Just to clarify something. CIS is NOT the same as ICS.
CIS is really business oriented, while UCI's ICS (Information and Computer Science) is *all* programming.

And we have better dorm food too :p
That's what friends from 4 diferent UCs have said.
<sigh> I miss the dorms
