POLL: Best prebuilt PC brand on the market

Leave customer service out of this because we all know that just about everyone has had a beef of some kind with customer service from one company or another. Just on parts and warranty associated with cost, what do you think is the best prebuilt pc on the market?

Dell.

Gateway's suck. HP's are OK. eMachines have gotten a lot better. Sony's are overpriced.

The truth is Apple is the best OEM computer available on the market. Great OS, awesome applications and tight integration, great design. Cost is the prohibitive factor when it comes to Apple.

I'd kill for a commercial, non-plastic version of the Optiplex chassis. Closest I've seen yet is the *tec mid-server towers. That's not my beef. My beef is the fact that everything inside of them fvcking breaks on a whim. I admin labs of these things.

Video likes to die. A lot. PSUs LOVE to die. Half the fvcking time, the secondary optical drives don't work out of the box and I have to switch the jumpers myself (HOW THE FVCK DO THEY MAKE IT OUT OF THE FACTORY?) They have severe thermal issues if they're placed in a suboptimal location (like a cabinet).

They are lowest bidder junk exemplified. The only quality components I've pulled from Dell boxen have been hard drives and a few Lite-On drives.

You guys must suck, because I've had none of those problems on any of the machines at my school.

I have to agree with EyeMWing.

I just about smoked a brand new Dimension 4700 PS trying to play HL2.

as good as dell PSU's are, i doubt they can really handle a high-end video card... im sure a 9800pro/Xt would be fine tho...

oh btw, i think IBM's are pretty nice. but as far as expanding/fixing one goes, nothing beats a home-built with a nice case like an antec.

Only a couple hundred of them...they're fine.

You're lucky. and/or they never get turned on.
They get plenty of use. Go back to building your uber-machines in your trailer.
