I don't like Star Craft. The entire game is just a contest of who can build the most stuff the fastest. :|

I argue differ. Combination of Strategies and understanding the use of units is the key

Ok, maybe not the entire game but perhaps 90% of it. The dude who wins almost ALWAYS is the dude who has the most units. I have seen hundreds if not 1,000 or more Star Craft games too, so this isn't just stuff I am pulling out of my butt.

watch some world class expert replays at theinclan.com. No offense but I bet you're not good at SC at all, let alone getting 1100+ ladder.

Yeah, I'm not good because I can't mine a billion of every resource and crank out mad units with my fingers flying accross the keyboard. World class play is always different than the play at the amateur level. That can be said for practically every game and sport. For instance look at the game of Chess. At the lower levels of Chess tactics are everything, practically every game is won or lost on tactics alone. At the world class level strategy becomes a MUCH bigger element. I am sure the same idea holds true for Star Craft. Sure you can point at the world class players of the game and say: "Look THEY use strategy!" but for the average gamer such as myself which the game is supposed to appeal to the game is not about strategy, it is about speed.

lol, well building lots of men may help the novice survive a bit longer but ultimately it comes down to strategy and using your units effectively.

Naaa.... SC wasn't that good, WC3 isn't either. I am waiting for something that will turn me upside down.

Diablo. Diablo 2 was *horrible*. Starcraft is cool, but I'm horrible at it, so I never play it.

WC3. :)

Warcraft III - awesome. basically SC improved upon. addressed most of the complaints with SC and added more complexity.

The Diablo series is crack. It's not all that great but for some reason you keep playing... But once you get off, you just think WTF?

well jeez.. what more could you ask for from a gaming company... sc, wc3, wc2, d2, diablo... I guess Blizzard really needs to put out a GOOD game for a change eh?

Starcraft... it did more to change the future of online gaming than the rest of blizzard's games put together. Yes you CAN balance things even if you give different teams fundamentally different units!

Star Craft was tons of fun before I got sick of furiously trying to crank out units. Couple of things that bug me about Star Craft is the amount of micro-management required is out of this world. Your units have practically NO AI whatsoever. You have to tell them every little stupid thing to do practically. For instance with the SCVs, when they pop out of the base they just sit there and do nothing until you tell them to mine a resource. They SHOULD have given the moronic little pieces of junk a little AI so they would seek out resources on their own and start mining right when they pop out of the base.

Oh, the other thing that bugged me about Star Craft was the lag system. If one person lagged, EVERYONE lagged. That really sucked because you would have some dude all the way from Korea in your game lagging the entire thing to bloody hell. :|
