So, how many of you save your bacon grease to use on other things later?

Mmmm... fries with half a tablespoon or so of grease from maple smoked bacon.. along with the regular tablespoon of butter and salt to season. ;)

Bake @ 450ºF for 20 mins.. teh yummay!

I think I can almost feel my arteries hardening.

Nah, unless I have a certain recipe I'm making that needs some bacon flavor. I normally let it solidify, then throw it in the trash.

No, that was MartyMcfly83...that roommate was messed up. I'm his new one...I don't eat butter or cock. Lucky him.

That's the way I was raised. We used either leftover bacon grease or Crisco to cook about 80% of our food. The remaining percentage was garden fresh vegetables. I love southern cooking.

As a teen I moved to the north and eventually let go of the frying mania. I now use olive\canola\corn oil pretty much exclusively for cooking if I need oil, and generally I restrict how much I use.

No, but my mother did.

In fact, most people from the depression and war years did this.

Food tastes great when cooked in bacon grease. Makes for some great eggs and hash browns.

Ah. My dad probably learned it from his parents.

I don't do it a lot. It just gives some extra flavor kick to those things that it is appropriate for... like french fries. ;)

It's probably better for you than the trans-fat laden sh!t they deep fry french fries in...

YEs I do! I keep it in the bedroom just in case! "Take 'um off. ... Hey, boy, you look just like a hog. ... Come on, piggy, give me a ride."... Looks like we got us a sow here, 'sted of a boar. ... I bet you can squeal like a pig." ...

My cousin cooks bacon in bacon grease. I find that excessive.
