The only thing that would beat a T'bird is Dual T'birds. Now that would be sweet!

hehehehe, dual p-3 can beat your thunderbird 🙂

Limited:athlon
Unlimited:athlon

han888:it all depends on the benchmarks
here are some benches I took with my athlon slot A 750 @ 1100
notice my rig beat out the dual pentiums!!!.
benchmarks1
benchmarks2
benchmarks3
benchmarks4
Sandra CPU
Sandra CPU Multimedia
I tell you get a newer T-bird, and epox 8kta3 or abit kt7a and youll be set. If you got the extra money and time, wait for the next generation of ddr-boards. The boards out right now are just the beginning of the end for intel.

tweaked, of course your ahtlon beat the dual pentium 3, because the benchmark u use is not support smp anyway, that's why u can beat it! try use sisoft or other benchmark support smp

Well anyway, my processor was released a long time ago. The pentium 4s are brand spanking new. And my system still beat it out in sandra. I have to say Amd is a step ahead of the game. Maybe not in megaherts, but in raw power. Did anyone see the dual athlon benchmark 2cpu did? It beat the pants off the dual pentium system.
dual pentium vs dual athlon

yup, i am agree will be a good choice because of the prices, and anyway about the link u give, i think it's a bullshit, as we know amd cpu does not support smp until now! how come they can did the benchmark? and anyway if it's true dont compare the dual 1.5ghz ahthlon with dual 1ghz pentium, 500mhz it's huge different

and this,i know smp is not really use if the application does not support, but for adobe photoshop, macromedia, and another editing software will take an advantages of this smp

now even the mobo support the dual, but the cpu doest not support dual, it's can not work, like for example the cas2 step intel cpu will not run at smp 🙂

can u give me the link? i am sure a single 1.5ghz thunderbird will not do better with my dual p3-700@868 ( can not clock more because of summer season ) some one just post his tbird 1.3ghz and still can not perform better mine one

this link show the 1.35ghz tbird sisoft cpu multimedia mark, and u can compare it with my dual setup, btw no war please 🙂 actually from the prices reason i will choose amd, but i need smp 🙂

Athlon. Of course!

hmmmmmm... darrin have tbird run at 1.5ghz, darrin can u give me your sisoft cpu mark and cpu multimedia mark on the forum? so i can compare it with mine one
====================
dual p3-700@868
abit vp6
640mb hyundai pc133

P4, cause its more expensive and slower at current applications and games...uhmm, check that, Athlon.

/me does the Thunderbird dance
If you can't guess my opinion, then ignore me...
If you can...Join me in the Thunderbird dance!

Yet another vote for Athlon. Hann, lets do some more benchmarking against dual Athlon 1.5Ghz! Let's see how pathetic the Pentium performs there, eh? Dual system compared to dual system...place your bets everyone, because Athlon is going to kick some serious a$$!!!!! Muhahaha! Comparing a dual system against a single system, yeah, that takes brains to see what system would win? It's like driving a Porsche against a Pinto. Besides, even a single AMD Athlon is VERY close to that of a dual P3, and costs only a fraction of the price, too!!!

GO AMD!
