I know many people who do not support this war as it stands right now. But if drafted they would do their duty to the best of their abilities.

As for you, lupy, you can get the hell out right now. I'll even send $10 to help pay for your plane ticket.

Please do send me the $10, since you live in Minneapolis as well, perhaps I should meet you somewhere to thank you!

The Aussies would step on your neck in about 10 seconds. They have a dog in the hunt as well.

lol, I am merely returning to my ancestral land, they would welcome me with open arms and dogs love me :D

I'd gladly go if called. I will be 30 in May though so doubt if I will be drafted.

I know one thing for sure, that is you won't be missed :p

Enjoy the sand and 90 degree dry heat, and enjoy fighting a meaningless war for your beloved president!

90 degrees? are all cowards as ignorant as you?

Hah, call me whatever you want, why don't you pack your bags and make sure you take your winter coat and go to Iraq asap? Surely there are more than enough "human shield" liberals + Saddam and his doubles for you to shot at! FYI it's only late Feb, spring is still 20 days away, the temp in the Iraqi desert is already 75 degrees!

Where would you have fled to if your "ancestral land" had given you marching orders for Gallipoli ?? I mean, the Aussies just followed the the British royals like a lap dogs. You surely wouldn't have fought an "English" war.

Or would you have led the bayonet charge that cleared the first trenches during the initial landings in the Dardanelle's ? The Anzac troopers didn't even take time to load their weapons, they just came off the boats and charged.

The only Aussies I ever served with were from the RAAF. A different sort of man than you appear to be on first glance.

You and your ancient history. Let me make it easier for you to understand, you can call me whatever you want, it doesn't mean jack to me. As far as I am concerned, Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield are evil, evil evil men and should be dealt with by the American public.
Also, to me your opinion is irrelevant (how do you like that? :p).

He tends to mistake "not running" for "consent", not noticing that they cant run when you're holding on to them

I was wondering how people who could very well be forced to join the military and a fight a war felt about it. It looks at about even in terms of support for the war.

I am 47 years old, I love my country, but I do not support this war or any war in this day and age. I do support sending snipers to eliminate the b*stard war-mongers in this world so we can begin to live in PEACE. Unfortunately, for any of those who think he is a great president, Bush would be one of the aforementioned war mongers.......

I'm just so sick and tired of all these grown up children playing their ignorant war games at our expense:|

Just my opinion, -kd5-

I'm sorry but Mr. Moderate Democrat Clinton also believed in a regime change in Iraq but he didn't have the balls to be a leader but rather do everything based on public opinion. But then again, his balls were busy elsewhere anyways....

Ugggghhh, people who would flee the country due to a draft are some of the biggest POS on Earth. Here you are reeping all the benefits of living in this country and won't do anything to serve it. Guess what, these are the people that the country has elected and by living here you agree to abide by the law. If you don't like it, I suggest taking actions now instead of illegally running away and being a bunch of ingrateful bastards you are.

I agree with Kduncan5, this is the second president Bush to get us in a fight with Iraq... Do we see a pattern emerging here??? War monger really sums it up...

Gr1mL0cK, I disagree with you, but part of what makes us Americans is that we do not HAVE to support or endorse anything, including war, or the political agendas of any leader, or agree with each other for that matter... I also think that you need to brush up on your education on US government. The statement "Guess what, these are the people that the country has elected and by living here you agree to abide by the law." is probably one of the most ignorant things I have heard from anyone... ever!

Bottom line... If you support the war, good for you, if you want to fight in the war, good for you, if you think that someone should go and fight and get blown to bits to be a "Good American", then that's your opinion. Calling people bastards for not believing what you do, or who would not go to war, is childish. As Americans we are all entitled by the laws of this country to have our own views and beliefs including the right not to support this war...

We need peace, not war. We need understanding, not ignorance...

Just my two cents... Not that anyone cares or agrees, but that's how I feel.

I'm 33 and also wouldn't be eligible because of medical problems. If we go to war i would support our troops. Regardles of everything else the troops are the ones that have to take the orders go in and do the job. Our troops should be given the upmost respect.

I for one both care and agree. This is America, does the word freedom ring a bell. If not that's okay because obviously next year is 1984.

(P.S. If I were of draft age and I got drafter, would I even have a choice?)

I read far enough into this post when I read the comments made by "lupy".

Enjoy the sand and 90 degree dry heat, and enjoy fighting a meaningless war for your beloved president!

You are a disgrace to our country. Your comments have disrespected all those who have fallen to keep us free. You do not defend your country for a person or president, you defend the country itself and all that it represents, including it's history. If you can't respect that, then get the hell out and leave your freedoms behind. Anyone who doesn't respect those that have sacrified their lives for us and/or will not defend our freedoms should get the hell out right now.

On top of that, you mention physical conditions, such has sand and heat? How selfish can you possibly be?

"Iraq, you can endanger my family, my friends, my country; just please don't make me go into a hot sandy environment" - You're pitiful...

As for the poll, I am of draft age and I support the Iraq war.

Nice selective reading there buddy.

I never said you have to endorse or support, but to actually do something other than b1tch and moan. I said comply legally. Where did I say you have to support everything the political leaders do? Furthermore, I was specifically talking about people who flee the draft (something mind you that is illegal) when they had all the opportunities in the world to change things beforehand and even still other legal method if one was to be instated. Simply, fleeing and running away... yeah, that'll get things changed.
rolleye.gif
No, I'm not calling people who do not want to go bastards.. I'm calling people who do not believe in war yet doing nothing about it other than running away bastards. Open your eyes (and mind) and actually read next time please.

Btw, you're ignorant and childish and suggest you continue your education.
