I'm left handed but I bat and golf right handed. I also use scissors and peel vegetables right handed. It's much easier that way.

I'm right handed, and my left hand is virtually useless. My wife is right handed. Her parents and grandparents are all right handed. Her brother is right handed. Same with my family. All grandparents, parents and siblings are right handed. Both my boys are left handed!

I tried like hell to get both of them to at least use their right hand to write with.

Luckily you didn't force them to use their right hand. I have heard that it could cause some problems.

Lefty here, and No... I don't do it both ways.

Just want to express some more frustration over those college desks. We still managed to make through university though thanks to our more evolved intellect. ;-)

I'm a lefty. I hated most of those college desks. In most classrooms at my school there was 1 lefthanded desk per row. From the back of the class, it was on the lefthand side.

I hate right handed scissors, can't make those work with either hand. I mouse right handed, I can't do it left handed. most Lefties seem to get along just fine without too much special stuff, left handed scissors were always nice when I was a kid.
Would it be possible to better this $22.95 price on these 8" bent handle scissors, or these $23.49 8",366005 "dressmaker" shears?

you may not even need special lefty scissors, I do just fine right now with scissors that work either way, what bothers me are that are made to only be used in the right hand. They make many that are "unihanded"? (like unisex) so you may not need to go out and spend extra money on special scissors.
I own some of those cheapie scissors and I hate 'em. Bought myself some nice Hot Forged Carbon Steel scissors instead. Larger image. I'd like the boys to be able to use the same quality tools. I don't mind spending the money for them, but I want to get the best price!
