I just got back from it.
All I will say is that I left pissed off. Pissed off at terrorists. Pissed off at Islam. Pissedd off at our government for being seemingly unable to communicate and respond appropriately. I wanted to hurt someone.
I would say that reaction was common amongst the men in the theater. The women were silent or simply cried.
Being "pissed off at Islam" would be a highly reactive and irrational response - please reconsider before you jump to such conclusions.
Islam and Muslims have as much to do with 9/11 terrorists as Christianity does with fundamentalists who blow up abortion clinics. There are extremists in every group, but the extreme and horrible actions of a small minority should not be generalized to represent the majority.
There are 1.2 billion+ Muslims in the world today. There are many, many different sects and subsects of Islam, and different sects have different interpretations of the Quran, like Christians have different interpretations of the Bible.
Almost all Muslims do NOT identify with the extremist Sunni Wahabi sect, which members of the Taliban belong to. An incorrect interpretation of any religious text could make you a very bad person.
Islam is actually a very loving and peaceful religion. It's a shame some viewers of this movie may leave the theater thinking all sorts of horrible things about Islam because of the views of a tiny, terrible minority.
