I dunno man, I watched the other version of "93" on discovery/history channel if I do remember. The video tape recordings are emotional...

yeah, where is the money going to? Are they donating any of it?
10% of the first three days gross...Not nearly enough to make it a charity film.

I'm not going to watch it. I already respect the memory of those who were on the plane and the decisions they made.

seriously...

these greedy film companies act quick don't they?
10%....pfft, what a fvckin joke
Now, if they were donating 50 - 70 % of the total profits maybe I'd give it a chance, but considering they are doing this for pure greed, fvck them! :|

how could anyone have known what happened on the flight. No one survived.

In-flight recorders and 911 tapes

but no video. even with good audio, it's pretty hard to tell what's going on.

I had no interest until I saw some of the reviews and details about decisions the director made. Now it is on my list just below Cache of movies to see.

i never saw that pearl harbor movie, why didn't people bash on it?

Good question. I was thinking something along the same lines as well. Maybe this material is still a bit fresh still? I mean, not enough time has passed since the actual event, and the movie.

It's the only reason I can think of. It's stilly to say that you're offended because someone's making money off of a human tragedy. I mean, have you not watched:

Schindler's List; Saving Private Ryan; Band of Brothers; Titanic; Alive; Hotel Rwanda; The Pianist; Raging Bull; Glory; Dog Day Afternoon; ANY war movie; any-other-true-story-movie-that-profits-off-of-the-misfortunes-of-others; etc.

Where do you draw the line? What's the difference? Be thankful the makers of United 93 took the time to get with relatives of every passenger on the flight, went over all of the available data to try and make a geuinely good "true" movie.

People were too busy noting how awful of a movie the pearl harbor film was to worry about offending people.

what about the 911 call detailing that there was a mild explosion and smoke in the cabin?

Or the fact that a large piece of aircraft debris was found several miles away from the crash site?

if it's not in the movie it's probally because it's difficult to explain, can't explain with information we have, or doesn't fit in the continuity.

I'm not entierly sure i feel up to watching a movie about this. Maybe after some time, but it's not on any priority list or anything for me.

ya, very true

i think i'll be pretty heavy w/ emotion when watching this. It's still a bit too fresh for all of us.

w/ radar, the way the plane crashed, and using the real cockpit recorders.. they probably should have ended the acting part of the film w/ Beamer saying "... let's roll"
Then, instead of showing a reenactment of what could have happened, just have the camera angle show the outside of the plane, and what it did, while the real flight recorders played in the background.

We (i think..?) know the exact flight path when the plane crashed no? Shouldn't they just show the final moments of the crash w/ some CG, and play the real flight recorder?

I just don't like it when writers/directors embellish and try to show something that could have or could've not happened inside the plane, especially for a fresh tragedy as this :(
