COPD = Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Basically they told me that all the little 'hairy' thingy's lining my lungs were burnt off or damaged or whatever.. and that I could breathe in ok, but could not properly exhale all th poisons. They said no cure, I would slowly die from it, but Steroids would help.

eight months of.....

Steroids:
pills twice a day
inhalers three times a day
shots twice a week.

then they find that I had bronchitis!
Fvchers!!!

Well, I can't take all the credit. I was on the Gall Bladder Diet. It's pretty easy. Have your gall bladder removed. Then 2 weeks later go back to the hospital for a week with bile leakage and have 4 procedures done. Make sure one of the procedures causes a punctured lung. Important: it must at least partially collapse the lung! Go home (still off work) and return to the hospital 1 week later with an internal infection and pneumonia. Stay for 7 more days. So you miss a total of 6 weeks of work, and eat hardly anything. ;)

Yeah, I lost it the hard way, but I'm working my a$$ off to keep it off (plus more).

I think I have a souvenir for AT: 'Are you fat?' threads. There's also the YAGTs of course.

This question and other questions about weight always pop up.

The answer is no, I'm not fat. I'm in fact lanky. I'm still the same weight (i.e., ~133 Lbs, 6' factoring height added since then) as I was 8 years ago.

I gained 85 pounds in nine months.

Will not sue. Am not that type. But if I did, I would only ask enough for liposuction and a gym membership.

right now, I am in the gym 3x a week and no liposuction planned. But being over 40yrs. old, it is rough to take it off. I have 1/2 left to go. 85 pound on in nine months. 45 off in one year.

I totally understand how you feel,I'm 46 and sometimes it feels like every forkful goes straight to all the wrong places! Try not to get discouraged,it will come off over time and as a bonus losing slowly will help your skin to bounce back.

geekbabe..

Whew! I was soooo not used to being this size. When I first came off the steroids, I thought it would come off easily. when it did not, i hated myself so much that i ate cake and haagan daz everyday cause i was already a fat disgusting pig.

Took me about 6 months to get motivated to join a gym and get cracking. I will though. I miss feeling good and looking good and sharing clothes with my sister and daughter.

I have asthma and am no stranger to prednizone,of course I was on taper regimes and was fortunately spared standing high doses.Just try to keep your confidence up,you got sick thru no fault of your own and you are now taking proper steps to recitfy an illness related change in your appearance. You should feel proud of yourself!

i got fat during the summer when I took a semester off classes and STRESS
went up from 135lb to 150lb,
now back in Fall semester and I am down to 143 lb (the last time I weigh myself)

I guess... not that fat after all.. considering the fact

I that I could wear those waist 30 pants....
compared to waist 32... during the summer.

You too? I guess I am considered fat (I am 5'7 and weigh 240), but I do have a lot of muscle. Can leg press over 1000 pounds, and bench press around 200 now (haven't just started doing it again). Although, everyone I ask (including my doctor) say I look closer to 190-200. I guess this is a good thing for looks, but physically it is not. I do however have perfect blood pressure.

5' 11", 185lbs or so.
actually, I'm pretty much 6 feet tall, I hate the <half inch short of 6 feet part... =/

anyways, I wear size 36 waist, 30-32 long.

I'm not fat, but if I lost a lot of weight, I wouldn't be skinny like those lanky skinny people you see. I'd still be fairly large (theres actually such a thing as large bone frame), and look ridiculous and ungainly.
