<< Yup, since the very beginning. >>

I notice a huge difference both at home on my dialup, and at work on broadband.

I have not subscribed and frankly, I can think of better ways to spend $30.00. For the most part, its plenty fast still. The pm thing is the only part that bothers me, but I live with it.

I have a hard time justifying paying for something that used to be free or still can be free.

<< Electrode: Have you pm'd a mod about this? >>

No, but I sent an e-mail to Anand. He replied, but that was the last thing I heard about it. That was about a month ago. A week ago, I sent another email, but never got a reply.

Right now's probably a bad time to get in touch with Anand about anything because of exams. Try pming a mod about it and ask when you might know something definate. Because of exams and the hustle and bustle of the holidays, you might need to remind them every so often that you need some help.

Since my 3 year 1 month Anandtech Subscriber membership cost me $0.00 how could I refuse?

It's well worth the money, even if you had to pay $2.50 per month.

My membership was paid for by opening a bank account with Netbank and INGDirect both of which gave me $50 each x 2 = $100 / $30 AT Subscriber = 3 years 1 month = FREE SUBSCRIPTION = 😀 Ross

Electrode, if you're not getting any response from zuni or anand, and the moderators say they cant help you, you should dispute the charge with your credit card company. Or try to check with the company that Anandtech does the credit card processing with. Trust me, if they get hit with chargeback fees they'll get their act together quickly, you've been overly patient, you shouldnt have to wait for more than a month to have some action taken.

I subscribe but Dont think its have as good as they sell it to be, could be just my conetion but there was very little change in speed BTW I have a cable modem.

Damn straight. Life is too short to shut yourself out of the fast lane over a couple of extra samolians. Part with those pesos, Pedro, and lively up yourself.

I didn't really need to subscribe, because I'm in the same city as the servers and my speed was fast enough. But I did anyway, to help support the forums.

Maybe something was wrong with my connection, but I wasnt even able to get into any regular forum sites, but since I subscribed, it got a heck of a lot faster. I wasnt able to even browse the site a little bit. It's nice to have though

Things like the 1000 pm limit and full search definitely helped my decision to subscribe. Decided I'd have one less Big Slam every week or so to pay for it, especially when I considered the money I've saved via Hot Deals, the dollars I've been spared in listing fees at auction sites or classified ads by using FS/FT, etc.

Less than $3 a month? That there's a bargain. It doesn't bother me a bit that it all used to be free. I just figure I got 2 years free to start out with. Knocks my overall "cost" to around $10/year so far. For me it was an easy decision.

I like the forums and I've been a member a long time, but I cannot justify spending the money. I am knee-deep in debt (poor college student). If I had the extra cash, I'd do it...

No way am i gonna pay for a forum.

Guys its free and not that slow. If I were to pay for every forum that i visit then i will be broke. Besides I am sure shrimpi has pockets full of money. And remember that we all come here to save money not.

I subscribed for 3 months, in the hopes that I won't be as addicted to this place by my subscription end date 2/1/02. 😉 I think I'm kidding myself though. 😛

That's my main reason for subscribing.

But if you're mainly an OT'er, then no, I wouldn't pay for it either.

BTW: You could replace "Big Slam" in the above statement and put "pack of smokes" for me. I spend way more than $2.50/mo on dumber sh!t. 😉
