I went to an automotive college and graduated, but I can't follow that career path since I reinjured my knee part way through college. I can't stand that long or bend down under a car up on a rack on a regular basis... I use to have to ice my knee every night after class. Other than that I have no formal education that would help me get a job. I'm not dumb... at least I don't think so... well... I might be dumb, but I'm intelligent, if that makes sense. I know a little bit about a lot of things, more than the average person I'd say, but don't know enough about anything to get myself a job without a piece of paper that says I know what I know.Originally posted by: johnjbruin did you not go to college? why are you not qualified enough? are you teh dumb?

Can you not get medical attention via your parent's insurance (assuming they have med coverage)? If someone like Picabo Street can destroy a knee, rehab it, and race on the World Cup ski circuit again, surely you can get yours fixed up to where you can work on cars again, no?Originally posted by: Dufman

that is sad to hear.
why dont you try to get more education in some other field that you are interested in, that you would also be able to work in?
I can't now... their current provider won't pay ANY of it they said. I saw a few specialists when it first injured it, and all of them said an artificial knee would be required, and then would have to be replaced about ever 15 years. I've recovered to the point so that it doesn't hurt constantly... only when I put weight on it for long periods of time, or anything that involves impact, like just walking long distances. My physical therapist was a former Marines recruiter and she worked with me for free for a month after we paid for the first visit cause of my financial situation. Can you not get medical attention via your parent's insurance
