I'm an offensive driver.

No accidents(knock on wood), 1 speeding ticket in 9 years.

I dont get in accidents, I cause them behind me.

Perfect record, not even a parking ticket. 😀

and I'm not talking about just driving some little 4 door car around, 4x4 fullsize as a daily driver and many a weekend of towing a double axel trailor 🙂

I've been driving since I turned 16 (I am 29 now). So, in 13+ years of driving I have amassed over 250,000 miles while driving 99% of those miles in wonderful Southern California. 🙂

In that time I have had 1 speeding ticket. I have also had zero accidents. I AM THE MAN!!! 😛

But seriously, I've nearly gotten into quite a few accidents (both my fault and the fault of others), and I know I've been REALLY lucky to not have been involved in an accident, ever.

Outstanding.

7 years of driving. Well over 50k miles, 2 accidents, 1 speeding ticket, and those 3 incidents were not my fault = 0 accidents, 0 speeding tickets 😀

I truly am an outstanding driver. I know what you are going to do before you do it. I can see your future lane activity by your 'lane lean' and your speed. I look at what type of vehicle you drive and what you're doing inside. I really do know what you're going to do and I don't care so long as it doesn't compromise my safety. I will impede your progress if I know you are an aggressor. I love watching the aggressive types fume over 3 seconds worth of time when I deny them a lane change.

😀

edit: zero points currently; 2 points in 1986 for a basic speed violation, I was rear-ended in 1991 by an idiot in a dodge colt

About average. Only been driving alone about 3 months though, about 3000 miles under my belt.. I havn't hit anything yet, or gotten a ticket. I really havn't been wreckless on the road, though everyonce and a while I make a few mistakes, and almost cause an accident. Only happened about... three times in my 3 months. Lately, I've been getting better, the experience helps.

95% of drivers think they are in the top 5%.

I don't drive, I fear I would present too much danger to others. I like to push things to the limit aka pedal to the floor. I'm my mind I can see myself driving like the Pros do but the min I act on that I have a feeling some one is going to get hurt. So rather than take that risk I choose to ride the bus. Dumb eh?

that's why i was honest, and said i'm the worst thing ever to touch the road.

I would say im slightly below average because i don't really trust my car as much as i prolly should since so much relies on it.

It's actually happened to me twice - qnce by a Honolulu city bus at a red light and another time by a truck . . .
unless I am mistaken, being a "good driver" does not include having a defense for idiots approaching a completely stopped vehicle from the rear . . .
and - other than that - my "extreme defensive driving" - sometimes has sometime included some mad driving and avoidance skills . . . 😉 (like last Friday when a big rig tried to take me out)

😀

I really need improvement. As far as the mechanics of driving go I am fine, I know how to handle the vehicle in emergency situations etc but as far as temperment goes I really need improvement. I keep trying to become one of those drivers that don't let the idiots that don't know how to merge, accelerate, and use the left lane for passing only get to me but it is a tough ongoing battle. Because of that I rate myself as needing improvement.

Compared to everyone else on the road, how would you rate yourself?

I put outstanding..probably somewhere between that and above average -- reason is that I know my car quite well..what it can and can't do.

..and I signal when changing lanes. People who don't do that annoy me. Gah.

Edit: I also (usually) let people in/out/whatever..try not to run lights, etc..

Anyways..yeah.

Why I consider myself an above average driver:
I'm comfortable with a wide range of vehicles, having driven everything from a 2dr hatchback to a 24' Ryder truck.
I have towed everything from a 3' long wood splitter to a 35' travel trailer.
No accidents.
I take a proactive approach to driving, looking ahead to avoid accidents.
I avoid distractions inside of my car when driving.
I use the mirrors, all three of them.
I slow down quite a bit when it rains.
I am willing to move to the right when traffic wants to go faster than me.
I try to improve my skills.
I maintain my vehicles well.

Why I'm not an outstanding driver:
I tend to drive a bit on the fast side.
