Who's we, kimosabe?? You make it sound like those places are paradise. The stark reality is that they are free because the poliital/military/industrial umbrella of the USA provides the shade of peace and prosperity their children enjoy each and everyday. I don't think they should call us daddy, but I do think people should remember that the world has always been a dark, dangerous and unforgiving place to live.
America, and its emulators, are the best that's ever been and possibly the best that ever will be.
When people talk about how awesome other countries are, and yet still enjoy the prosperity provided by the USA and those that fought, endeavored and sacrificed against monarchy, fascism and communism to defend it, my emotional reaction is to wish them well as they stamp their visas, renounce there citizenship and put their allegiance where their mealy mouths are.
In the last 100 years, we have refined the constitution to include enfranchisement and rights expansion for for Women, people of color, gays, persons with special needs and put literally trillions of dollars toward programs to try and lift all of our citizens in equal measure to the majority. I'm not saying we've reached our full measure, but if you think Russia or Zimbabwe or Persia or Egypt or China or India or Guatemala or Burma etc are a better deal, then pack your bags, kiss your momma and get on a plane bitch.
