Please predict the Cinebench R10 multithreaded score of the very first tablet that uses the new Intel i5-3439Y with 7W SDP.

We'd need proof that the CPU is only using <= 7W during the test to validate the numbers, right?

NO we do not for conversation . Or are you questioning everthing Arm and AMD announced. I see nothing but broken dreams following intels roadmap . The 7 watts intel haswell is a lie I don't believe it this cann't be . LIKE i said 2006 all over again . cry me a freaken river IVb is a waste of time for everyone but intel at 7 watts. I would wait on haswell no matter what.

Yes, the tablet should only be consuming 7W as measured by using the same methodology in this article. PCH power not included.

Per AtenRa's pic, the Intel i5-3439Y with 7W SDP is a dual core w/HT that clocks in at 1.5GHz base (which it will likely be running during something like cinebench).

news33353_1-intel_rumored_to_ship_10w_ivy_bridge_models_by_q1_2013.gif

Per TuxDave's ling, the 3.5GHz 3770K gets 25,703 in R10 MT.

Cut that in half for dual-core w/HT estimate = 12,852

Cutting that down from 3.5GHz to 1.5GHz clockspeed yields (1.5/3.5)*12,852 = 5,508

So I take 5,508 to be the upper limit because the total on-die cache is less versus that present for the 25,703 score generated by the 3770k.

So I am voting for the "5000-5499" option.

Heh, I was trying to do practically the same method. Except that I skipped the step of actually looking up what that part was. Woops.

May as well title this thread "what clock do you think the processor will be able to run both cores + HT at while consuming 7W and cooled to 80C Tj" since that's really what it's about, which is just a continuation of the argument on the other thread :p

I'm going to stick with my "I don't know" for now. This is going to get especially thorny if it varies per sample.. Yeah I know this is just a friendly poll but I have a feeling that with all the bickering and brand fighting on these forums whatever you vote will be shoved in your face in the future :|

I got my guess was in that 5,500 range . so good guess right . No it wasn't I was thinking cin 11 lol. You seen what I changed that guess to after I seen daves post and realized I was wrong bench . So I did the AMD thing and dreamed big as you can see.

An argument you imposed on yourselves without really knowing what intel is up to.

Haha, I know this is for fun, but it's funny that we're using a Cinebench score. Like someone's really going to be doing serious video editing on one of these. :awe:

I highly doubt we will see without throttling down below the so called base clock or entire cores getting turned off, just doesn't seem realistic. I suspect it will be more like early 4000's.

Hmmm charlie seems to think it wont run at more than 800Mhz for 7W. That would put its performance more in the 2700 bracket.

I was thinking thats what it was when I voted thats why I didn't vote over 7000

Wouldn't be great if a new cinebench comes out compiled for AVXII.

I doubt it will be running at 1500mhz @ 7W. Still, even if it tops out at say, 700mhz that'll still be crazy fast for a tablet.
