Poll: 50% of repubs would support Trump postponing 2020 election!

This one is flat out scary:

After a series of initial questions, respondents were asked whether Trump won the popular vote, whether millions of illegal immigrants voted, and how often voter fraud occurs. These questions evoke arguments frequently made by Trump and others about the integrity of the 2016 election.

Then the survey asked two questions about postponing the 2020 election.

If Donald Trump were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote, would you support or oppose postponing the election?

What if both Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote? Would you support or oppose postponing the election?

Roughly half of Republicans believe Trump won the popular vote — and would support postponing the 2020 election.

It's all about the tribe. Screw democracy, right?

Ignorance, it's not just the blissful town next door

Well, they voted for him before he was president. You really think they're gonna suddenly wise up for no particular reason?
It should actually be closer to 100 percent. Anybody dumb enough to like the guy last year is dumb enough to love him this year.

Of course they'd absolutely have lost their minds if it had been proposed by the previous administration. And that's probably putting it lightly.

This is far more than a matter of being dumb to vote for Trump. It's a matter of being willing to tolerate suspending elections in order to keep your tribe in power. It's much worse than mere, garden variety stupidity. This is fascism in the making, happening right now, in real time, in these United States of America, circa 2017.

Remember when they kept saying Obama would cancel the elections and appoint himself dictator for life? Miss those days... So much shit they freaked out about with Obama that he was never doing in the first place and yet they are fully willing to accept it under Trump, the stuff that is happening and the stuff that isn't.

I remember... Some other world leaders aren't too fond of elections either after winning one... They did away with elections, it was less trouble for them...

Although I believe that does change the type of government for the country...

😱

Winston Churchill was smarter than we thought. "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

That goes for Democrats who voted for Obama as well as the Trumpers. They are both frauds.

Tell us more.....comrade.

Well then those people are treasonous, partisan buffoons.

Don't like the Constitution? Really dig this whole fascism thing? Then GTFO. Emigrate to Russia Dumpsters.

Well, as originally proposed in the constitution, only land owners were allowed to vote. Over time, you have essentially dumbed down the population. The "heroin junkie in Baltimore" gets the same vote I do. At least I contribute to the society I live in. The welfare masses get bussed to the polls to vote for whoever will give them more money. The average working man gets inconvenienced because he has to go wait in line with the rest of the working crowd for hours just to cast his ballot.

Conservative Projection Syndrome - The never ending pit of bat shit crazy ideas they accuse others of wanting to do because it is really their deepest, darkest desire.

You need to talk to your troll factory supervisor. Your output is substandard and derivative. If you want to move up you'll have to do much better than this.

But not as according to... you know... what was actually enacted by the Constitution.

lol.

Actually, property ownership was a requirement into the 1790's and as late as 1856 in North Carolina. Paying taxes and owning property as a qualification for voting wasn't banned until 1966 ...the more you know...

Not because of the Constitution, which left decisions on who could vote up to the states. The more you know indeed, hahaha.

Interestingly enough you could still own human beings as property in the 1790's, so maybe looking to them for what's a good idea in a legal sense is a bad idea, wouldn't you agree?
