You'd have to be a moron to want Bush back. Obama hasn't done anything so terrible to warrant that kind of step backwards.

Let's see, he was left two wars, an economic depression, a housing collapse, a crashed stock market, rising unemployment, and america's standing in the world viewed as a torturing empire teetering on the brink. Gee, I'm shocked things aren't running smoothly for him...
Yeah shame on Obama for not fixing in 10 months what it took Bush 8 years to fuck up.

This says a whole lot more about how stupid and how short a memory the public has than it does about Obama. Also, 40% or so also believe man plopped into existence about 10,000 years ago so. I'm guessing there's some heavy crossover action between these groups going on.

I believe you are confusing presidents with G-d. Presidents do not have that kind of power, not even when their party also owns Congress. Not even when their party also owns Congress with a veto-proof majority, so that only they may stand in their own way. Even Walks-On-Water has to deal with factions inside his party and with those Democrats whose districts and/or states do not allow them the luxury of going street-rat crazy with Marxism.

Still, considering that Obama is so far left, it's not really surprising that 44% would prefer Bush. Had McCain, who didn't merely reach across the aisle but rather lived there between elections, won with 53% then it's a pretty fair bet that 44% would now prefer Obama. Presidents historically get a 10 to 20 point bump after election, when they can switch from attack dog campaign mode to "non-political" presidential mode, but in this economy no president's honeymoon is going to last long.

"It's the Economy, Stupid"

The economy did really well under Bush. People want those good times back.

Fact; January 2001-January 2009 was the worst period for job growth, wage growth, and market (equity) growth since Herbert Hoover.

What was unemployment with Bush? How much did peoples incomes and net worth improve? Did they take home more money after taxes than before Bush?

The answer is low unemployment, net worth improved, stock market roaring and people paid less in taxes. That's what you call good times.

Was just reading an article today about people's net worth are going to take years to get them to where they were in the Bush years.

Actually according to the census and other sources individual incomes went down, poverty increased, homelessness increased, debt defaults increased, the number of uninsured increased, the middle class lost more people to the lower class than at any other time in national history, the current economic disaster began, the debt/deficit skyrocketed, international opinion dropped, public support for government evaporated, the number of militias and anti-government groups increased, and domestic faction friction increased many fold.

Yep, them sure was good times.

Actually he's continuing the policies of Bush. Like the home owner equity bailout program giving 8000 to buyers for homes artificially inflates market at tax payer expense. And many more. Y'all will be calling him Black Bush like I have since 2007 sooner or later.

Ad maybe if he had done anything to make the situation better instead of planting his foot firmly on the gas pedal people wouldn't be wishing for Dubbya... Think about it. Taking a bad situation and making it worse pretty much takes away your ability to blame the other guy.

I'm not one of those 44%. If came down between the two men, I'd pick none of the above.
That should be a line on all our election forms. If the winning candidate is "None of the Above", then those candidates are dismissed and a new primary process held to select candidates to put through for a re-vote. If you are judged as literally not better than nothing, then you do not need to be in power simply for being slightly less not better than nothing.

In the first 11+ months of the Bush administration....what did he accomplish, and what happened in America in that time frame?

Do the same for the Obama administration.

Compare.

Choose which one you want.

I'd take the 1st 11 months of the Bush admin anyday. Better a president who does nothing instead of one who ruins everything.

We got attacked by terrorists in the start of Bush's term.

Now, here is the problem with all these hypocritical Bush-bots. They'll say that was Clinton's fault - Clinton made us weak! Clinton emboldened the terrorists? Yadda yadda yadda....if we'd been attacked in Sept 09? You know what we'd here? ITS OBAMA THE MUSLIM! Opening the doors for us to get attacked again! Oh woe is us for not having a strong national defense anymore!

See the misstep in logic?

The economy is also now completely fucked because of Bush. Obviously people haven't learned their lessons well enough. Time for the ruler to the knuckles.

I agree, but think it is somewhat inevitable. You can't go from handing out free crack to cold turkey prohibition in one step:) the crackheads would run around torching building and killing people. In other words a complete and immediate policy reversal could cause more upheaval and pain and anger at the government which is already at an all time high.

You have to tell the crackheads that nothing is changed "dont worry" while you quitely dilute their stash:)

For those confused by my rambling I used "crack" as a metaphor for easy credit

Seems pretty much inline with who they voted for:

Who would you rather have as President right
now: George W. Bush or Barack Obama? If
George W. Bush, press 1. If Barack Obama,
press 2. If you’re not sure, press 3.
Bush ............................................................... 44%
Obama............................................................ 50%
Not Sure.......................................................... 6%

Who did you vote for President last year? If
John McCain, press 1. If Barack Obama,
press 2. If someone else or you don’t
remember, press 3.
McCain............................................................ 45%
Obama............................................................ 47%
Someone else/don't remember ....................... 8%
