you would need a better PSU if you +12v line drops below 11.5...if even under load and the 12v line still good...then you don't need a new psu...I am using an Enermax 550W (plenty of power) 12v line never drops below 11.9...idle at 12.032...running 4 hard drives...4 fans...cdrw...dvd...crystal orb on my ti4400...tv card...audigy...nic...silicone image u133 raid card controller...and dual psu fans (adjustable)
oh yeah...check your 5.0v line and 3.3v line also...
another thing you can determine if you need a better psu is that when you computer is under load and you hear your fans slowing down...then you might need one...usually meaning that the 12v line drops too low trying to keep vcore at your setting...
btw...my vcore is at 1.850v

My 1.6A is at 16*133 for 2.132 GHz at 1.5 volts. My motherboard undervolts the CPU by .07 volts - so I have to set the BIOS at 1.575 just to get a stable 1.5 volts. MSI 845 Ultra ARU.

This CPU runs hotter than I thought - 55 C idle with an ambient temp of 45 C. Retail heatsink.

Your temps are higher than they should be with the board unless you have a hot case or something. Would you happen to be using bios version 3.0?

The temps are not right with the original bios.

I just flashed to the 3.4 version of the BIOS. It reads hotter than the 3.0 BIOS. With the 3.0 BIOS I was getting 45 C idle and 50 C load (loaded with Prime 95). The ambient and CPU temps were switched though - ambient was really CPU and CPU was the ambient temp. The temps with the original 3.0 BIOS seemed more accurate to me. I am going to add a case fan and repost my results.

Which nvidia denonator is the fastest?
I am haveing trouble with the nature fps...
I had it up around 60+avg...
but now I am getting about 55 avg...
I am using 28.90 refrestratefix driver...
I don't know what i did that made the score drop by 10fps...

😕

Need some expert opinions.
Mine (check my rig) running 2.4GHz@1.65V.
Do I have a change to get higher stable with my current config.

I'm only running at 2.224 Ghz (139 bus), but my Samsung 2700 memory is set to 4:6 and is runnign at 417 Mhz 😀

Chip would only do 2.24 (140 bus) stable, no mater what the voltage, but it could be a limit of my epox 4dsa+ board.

The Benchmarks are better at the lower CPU speed (- 16Mhz) with the faster memory.

I'm getting around 3000 on the Sisoft memory benchmark.......

I moved the case fan that was in the front of the case to the back and my temps went down 3 C. With an ambient temp of 35 C my CPU temp is reading 50 C. I think this is wrong; the CPU is probably 10 C cooler than is reported with the MSI 3.4 BIOS. It's hard to believe that my CPU is 50 C when the sides of my case are cool and the air coming out of the case is slightly warmer than the air outside of the case.

Did you put your heatsink in right? maybe it is not touching your cpu completely...try using MBM 5.1.0.7 and see what you get for you temp. 50+ is high...that's only happens when I am under heavy load like prime95 and with lowest fan speed setting.

I'm sure I mounted it correctly. It's difficult to screw up installing these heatsinks with the new clipping mechanisms. I have some arctic silver between the heatsink and heat spreader. The heatsink itself feels only slightly warm to the touch, unlike my TBird at 1.33 which I could plainly tell was at 50 to 55 C.

try using motherboard monitor and see if the temp still reflects your bios temp
does you computer slows down or anything while normal usage? if it does...then you temp might be right...if it seems fine...then i think you mb is reporting wrong temps...then you should email your mb company or call them about it...tell them to fix it in the next bios

Ok up and running here, only at 2128 mhz right now (borrowing some ddr2100 until my ddr2700 gets here on monday).

Running prime95 right now, and my CPU temp is at 40C (w/ volcano 7+ sucking air off HS due to my fan setup on my fong kai case). It goes to 41C with the volcano set at low fan speed. 12V line (300W PSU) with all fans running high and prime going holds steady at 11.584. Could this be a problem when I try for 160 fsb?

Pack date is 4/29 from mwave

1.6A @ 2.24 GHz (140 FSB)
Asus P4B266-C
256 MB Crucial PC2100
Leadtek GeForce Ti4400
CPU Temp 36 C (idle)
Stock Intel Heatsink & Fan w/ Artic Silver

MBM 5.1 gives me appoximately the same readings.

There is another person with my board (minus raid) on the hardforums (overclocking & cooling) who is having the same problems. He has almost the exact same setup as me, including stock Intel cooler, and is getting temps under load of 59 C. I don't think I am isolated in this.

MSI really dropped the ball on the 845 Ultra - hopefully they can rectify these problems with BIOS revisions, which they are quite good at keeping up with.
