I thought France was against the war because they had deals with Iraq to do with their oil, not because of weapons.

Maybe it was because of both, and the French had a consipracy with Iraq! That must be it.

Wouldn't surprise me. Just look at the way the gov't managed the records of WMDs. Looks like the ones that weren't destroyed either were destroyed and weren't recorded or were never made and were reported by workers trying to impress (or avoid the wrath of) their bosses.

Actually no it is not. Weapons exports is often hightly controlled.

We did not sell/give stingers to terrorists in the 80s. We gave them to the afgan rebels to help run the soviets out of the country.
At the time, there people were not terrorist. Later some did become terrorist.
