Hell I'd vote for you and I hate that music.

I just love and appreciate your passion for a thing.
The whole "death to false metal" crowd tends to be the crazies who love their "true metal" which refers to like, 80s era cheese metal like Manowar and Virgin Steele. It was a popular saying the 90s among the anti-falsemetal crowd. False metal mostly refered to stuff like so called "nu-metal."

I seem to recall it being chanted about in the Airheads movie? This would coincide with the time frame you describe and the general plot of that movie.

voting should be done in person, with a valid state issues ID, or better yet thumb scan.
scan can be obtained when you register at your local gov office building/post office/dmv/ect

You want everyone to go to the DMV to get a thumb scanned in order to vote?

Why not just suggest a punch in the throat, or are we not thinking creatively?

So a punch in the throat, ear or the sack?
What's not to like about this plan?

It would seem that you have relatively easy access to some sort of facility. I agree with the idea that we could strengthen voting integrity with these types of suggestions, but it has yet to be proven (after decades) that there is a real problem.
That said:
1) Some people are a significant distance from any facility. Think rural America that may not have a post office (especially since dismantling the USPS is on page 3 of the GOP handbook)
2) Some facilities have ridiculously long lines (my local suburban PO takes like 20 minutes to ship a package) and it is much worse in dense population areas
3) People are generally not interested in voting. Anything that takes time makes it less likely that they will do any of it.

Are people in the US against a national ID card? Would make all this voter ID/voter fraud bullshit go away.

Oh yea aint gonna happen
Why though? It's the most convenient thing ever.

It's required to have for citizens and you can get it at any point after you reach 12 y.o.

I think the cost was 10 euros and I basically use it for everything from opening bank accounts to traveling to voting.

Voting reform - either instant runoff or some other variation that makes it realistic for more than two parties.
Single payer health care

and people have to go someplace to register anyway
when they do register, thats when the thumbprint is done
i am trying to figure out what dems have against people proving they are who they say they are to vote.
heck bank of america requires a thumbprint to cash a check

The issue is that many Republican voter ID laws are designed explicitly to discriminate against non-white voters by requiring ID they frequently don't have and would need to bend over backwards to get.

In many cases, the GOP mandates photo IDs because they know a disproportionately larger number of black people won't have examples of these on hand, like driver's licenses. They may issue dedicated voter ID cards if you don't have those, but they also intentionally make it difficult to get those cards (such as by closing offices near black communities). The result: some black people may not end up voting simply because they don't have hours to travel across town and wait in line in the middle of a work week.

Proof of identity is fine, but the standard doesn't have to be nearly as exclusive as Republicans make it. Utility bills, bank statements and many more items qualify.

you cant open a bank account without photo id, so if you have that you have the id.

that wont work for everyone in a household, as its usually only in one name
what would the other person do?

It's a start. There are other documents like birth certificates and social security cards. The point is that if you're going to require proof of identity, you should make those requirements as broad as possible to avoid disenfranchising people. Republicans, on the other hand, are purposefully disenfranchising people by instituting narrow limits.

as broad as possible, with least chance for any issues.
and as simple to get. which is why any gov office building should be able to issue them.

And what stack of papers will you require once they show up for the badge of honor.

"Give businesses a tax deduction for middle-class American employees, replacing the tax cut."

I didn't use up my 20 words, so how about I add four words to fix politics today?

"Fix politics: Instant runoff jungle primary"

OK, that's 20 words.
