Hang on a second..

How exactly does having a BAC of .11 (which for a lot of people is nothing) stop someone from attacking somebody else?

And I can still hold a knife and threaten someone else with my upper arm in a normal hanging location..

Are they trying to say him being legally drunk made him unable to attack or more likely to attack? IMO if he needed an emergency necklace to call for help, I doubt he's going to be a threat to a youthful fit officer let alone a team of them.

I think that they are trying to imply that he probably DID attack the officers...he was drunk, after all, and being drunk is bad.

Did you read any of the evidence that is currently available?

Nope, just the OP.

I freely admit that I am blatantly uninformed on this case, and I'm just spouting off whatever passing thoughts I have upon reading other peoples' summaries.

Which means that the only difference between me and your average political commentator is that I am not going to angrily defend my opinions, and I don't expect other people to take them as seriously as if they came from someone who DID know what they were talking about.

😉

I don't see how his BAC has relevance one way or the other. That certainly isn't drunk. It looks like illegal entry and murder to me, but it's likely little will come of it, as usual...

No surprise here. This country shows time and time again how they couldn't give two shits for people of color.

Also, cops can call Black people ****** now, as long as it's used as an effort to distract the ******s. I didn't know that. You learn something new every day. (Starred words are the N-word.)

A Westchester County grand jury cleared the White Plains police officer who shot and killed a 68-year-old retired Marine inside his apartment, officials announced Thursday.

This had absolutely nothing to do with color, Mr. sharptonite.

They would have done the exact same thing to a white or mexican guy.

but also shows that he could not have been trying attack police who responded to his apartment on a medical assistance call, a lawyer for the Chamberlain family said today.
Did the lawyer say how they knew this?

.11BAC ain't much.

Call a White or Mexican a N-gger? Really? I'm learning more and more.
Please educate me some more.

🙄

Racist slurs come out all the time, to/from all races, just because some idiot yelled a racist comment doesn't mean the entire thing wouldn't have happened to any other race.

I'm sure Carelli used the slurs to distract the Arab guy while beating the living shit out him.
Maybe the beating was just to make him a better citizen too?

C'mon. This cop is a plain ass racist. If you don't know what I am talking about --> http://www.democracynow.org/2012/4/5/exclusive_cop_in_fatal_shooting_of

Calling him a beloved patriot was just used to distract the Arab beloved patriot, I guess. Maybe he beat the shit out of him to make him a better citizen too?

If this was a poor old white man who was aggravated and refusing to open the door I believe the outcome would've been the exact same.

Applying the racist label where it doesn't fit causes the true racists situations to get ignored.

BULL FUCKING SHIT. When was the last time you've seen a White man shot by Police while being called a Honkey?

Um, it's something one idiot yelled out in the heat of the moment. You can't (or shouldn't) apply one LEO's emotionally charged outburst and apply it to all ~6 people.

Men get shot by the police for stupid baseless reasons all the time. I know it feels good to paint that racist label on things but it simply doesn't fit here, not even close.

Then at least charge the one idiot. He's the one that pulled the trigger. He's the one that has prior complaints of racism and abuse, he's the one that has a civil suit against him.

But no. None of this matters. I bet he is a stand up citizen. After all Police can't be racist. It's unpossible.

Seriously? RTFA. The guy is a racist POS who is up on federal charges for a completely different incident of stomping on some Arab guys head while he was cuffed to a bench in the police station, and has a long history of being a racist scumbag.

I absolutely agree. The idiot that pulled the trigger needs to be charged for killing that man, they clearly used excessive force and showed no restraint.

My issue isn't whether these cops did something wrong, it's you implying that they showed up predetermined to "kill the black man" and that society (or cops?) don't care about someone if they aren't white.

I'm saying it's not about white/black or racism, it's about cops who are way too aggressive and are able to kill someone without repercussions (anyone, not just black people as you imply.....) and that aggressiveness is what needs to be dealt with.

I'm saying that had this man been a poor old white guy who was belligerent and refusing to open the door then he likely would've ended up dead as well.

In other words, go find a real racist situation to complain about so your voice gets heard rather trying to paint every single dead black guy as some huge racist coverup situation.

It's the whole boy who cried wolf thing.. I'm sure you know the story.

Fine, then charge the one idiot. Amd is making it out like society at large simply places no value whatsoever on a black man's life which is total bullshit.

Fine, then charge the one idiot.

What about the rest of the police there (all of them) who covered it up, lied to the media (he was running towards the officers with an axe?!?!), lied in their reports, lied to the DA, lied, lied, lied...

Do you really think this is their first time with the lies and cover-up?

Another interesting fact is that the medical company hearing the commotion called the police department to cancel the call, saying that the man was alright. The police department said they weren't cancelling it.

I can tell you from first hand experience once a call is put out they are never "cancelled"; or at least that is the case in my department. IT's called cover your ass. We'd be sued if there ever was a problem and we didn't respond because some civilian on the phone said "everything is ok, cancel the police".

We also are going to gain entry to your residence if there is no response or even if told through closed doors to "go away, everything is fine".

Lawyers are to blame for all of the above.

Cops lie and coverup situations all the time, it has nothing to do with racism.

And no, I have no doubt that all the cops involved did this sort of thing often. No doubt that they are bad cops and should not in an any postiion of authority.
