What I really want out of this situation is a fuckload of old racist cops to lose their jobs, and be replaced with decent human beings.

What happened in response to Floyd's murder IMO should be understood from the context of a massive and extremely powerful, but decentralized, govt bureaucracy responding to the dire prospect of accountability.

That's right.

I watched the hearing, and things did not go well for the prosecution. The whole back third of the hearing devolved into the prosecutor arguing with the judge, leading to moments like:

The judge needs to recuse himself. He is clearly jaded and should not be presiding over this case.
