Well, we had the first report and everyone jumped to conclusions, i guess innocent until proven guilty doesnt work on these boards.

The people who assaulted him should be charged with attempted murder and face the harshest penalty possible. Including the 15 year old.

Can't say I'm surprised.

BS.

He's not angry, she said. He just wants to go home. They want to get back to their quiet, slow life, to watch television, to hold hands.

BS. BS. BS. Any rational human being would be angry. They want to let this whole thing pass as soon as possible because they know what he was doing in those bushes.

Police now say the video captured the attack on Russo but does not show him masturbating outside the window. It shows Russo standing outside the brick Bunker Ridge apartment building about 50 feet from the one he lives in, looking at a window, then stepping behind a giant bush.

"I can't see him doing anything," Drake said on Monday.

No, really? You couldn't see what he was doing behind the bushes? Wow...no kidding?

The police have no neutral parties to explain what Russo was doing in the parking lot at 4 a.m.

Yeah, parking lots are abuzz with activity at 4:00 am.

Mario Russo can't tell them.

Poor Mario. :cry;

Russo suffers from a head injury, she said. He has told different stories of how he got it: an industrial accident, a car accident. He has a metal plate in his head and takes a pharmacy of prescriptions just to function.

Ah, so he's a trypical upstanding liar with a mysterious past that led to a plate in his head.

Sorry, but that was one pathetically lopsided bleeding-heart article. Yeah, they went too far, but let's not make this out to be some unjustified attack on an average joe.

hey devils advocate! there you are! i've been looking all over for ya.

HeroOfPellinor - BS.

That's the biggest load of unjustified reactionary bollocks I've ever read. All parties involved in the beating should be charged with attempted murder and jailed.

Ever think what effect beating a man for an hour nearby had on that little girl?

There's a reason why most free nations are built on the concept of innocent until proven guilty. This is a case in point. Reactionary mob-violence is never the answer.

Irony abounds when you post the above above this quote in your signature.

"The greatest single cause of Atheism in the world today, is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, and walk out the door and deny Him by their life style. That, is what an unbelieving world, simply finds, unbelievable."

Where does it say in the Bible you can't question the ethics of a published article?

You can question the ethics all you want, it is the bolded part that is disturbing. Where is there any justification in sodomizing someone?

Did you miss the part about his seizures causing him to wander around? He probably didn't remember where he lived.

And can someone tell me why there happened to be a video taken??

Last week, the North Royalton police told the media that a security camera at the Bunker Ridge apartments captured the attack on Aug. 14.

Didn't I say they went too far? Maybe I should have bolded it.

Maybe someone should write an article about how hard overcoming the mob mentality is and we can all weep for those five people in jail. Seriously, this article bordered on farsical it was so one-sided.

P.S. I love that people hold Christians to a higher standard cause you should. Thanks.

I think we should all try to remember that the only people who claim to have witnessed that he was a peeping tom are the same ones who are charged with beating, torturing, and sodomizing him for over an hour. How credible is their testimony to you? There's a reason why vigilantism for this kind is illegal -- it erodes respect in the law and damages the legal process.
In this case, we have 6 people who claim to have witnessed this peeping tom and apprehending him with excessive force, but those same 6 people are the ones who could have just grabbed him off the street and beaten and sodomized his ass for the fscking hell of it, making up the peeping tom story thinking it would get them off.
It's one thing to detain a suspect, even by force, but this is another thing entirely and leads me to doubt the vigilantes' story completely.

edit: think about it... they videotaped it. IMO that shows pre-meditated intent.

exactly what i was thinking. gigapet, it looks like you are trying to pick a fight with anyone ever so slightly disagrees with you on this. so what if you have a daughter? last time i checked crimes commited while being emontionally disturbed are still crimes, period.

well, good luck to you and hope something like that never happens to you (IF the sodomizer/lynch mobbers claim are true) and in case you were unfortunate to be caught in one you better hope I am not in the jury.

Ok so you think the article is slanted to a particular POV, that is a perfectly valid criticism to make.

Yeah, they went too far, but let's not make this out to be some unjustified attack on an average joe.

The above is what I have issue with. You say they went too far yet we are not to make it seem that it was an unjustified attack. Once again all I am asking is where is the justification for the attack period? Even if the guy was masturbating while looking in the window it in no way justifies what was done to him. How is it any less sick and demented to purposely take an object and ram it up someones rectum? Sorry but mob mentality does not explain that in my mind. Maybe I just misinterpreted what you meant so I will just leave it at that.
