Weee!
I'd LOVE 40's. Wife told me on Wednesday that she was out of washer fluid in the car we just bought. Went to town yesterday to get some. Popped the hood, started putting it in, wtf? There wasn't room for any - maybe 1/4 cup went in. Friggin idiots at the garage topped it off with watered down crap that froze solid. But, except for an hour or so yesterday, we haven't broken 20 in quite a while. Farm = lots of water outdoors and in unheated buildings = I get to refill water quite frequently. I have piles of ice building up.
Isn't it Polar Vertex - part 3 by now?

This is probably a dumb question, but is there any reason you don't have heated water feeders specifically to avoid this?I'd LOVE 40's. the snow is blowing sideways now. looks like a blizzard here.
just wonderful.
Not enough amps to the barn. Put in a new breaker panel, but I haven't gotten around to the new supply line. Plus, goats chew on wires. They don't seem to mind the cold. But, it was 32 when I went to bed, and temps are now plunging, should be 8 below by tonight. 2 hour school delay, so heading to an Amish sawmill in a minute to get some wood to keep the damn things inside when the wind chill is 30 belowThis is probably a dumb question, but is there any reason you don't have heated water feeders specifically to avoid this?
Fair enough. Though you should put that lineman son of yours to work; the least he can do is take care of some electrical work for his dear old dad.Not enough amps to the barn. A balmy -4°F right now. Wind chills at -30°F and kid's school is cancelled yet again. This has to be the 3rd or 4th day due to cold. They cancelled 2 days at the beginning of the year due to it being too hot. Poor thing will be in school through July at this rate.
