Had to sew a button back onto something. Why is it, when there are gadgets for just about everything, there's no simple gadget that will just instantly reattach a button to a bit of clothing?

Really, I'd settle for something that automatically threaded the needle - I wonder how much time has been wasted, in total, over the centuries, with people (especially middle-aged blokes with less-than-great eyesight) struggling for half-an-hour at a time to get a bit of cotton to go through the eye of a needle? (just to then spend 2 minutes actually sewing the button on)? It would be easier for a rich man to get in to heaven. Or for a camel to get into heaven. Or a rich man to get into a camel. Or a rich camel to sew a button on while reinterpreting a biblical aphorism to make himself feel better.

It's not exactly "automatic" but these can be helpful. I think perhaps the juice isn't worth the squeeze for inventing a re-buttoning gadget (accommodating different button sizes/hole placement/thickness, fabric thickness), but yeah, would be neat for those occasions.

I think my wife bought one. Since I haven't had to rush her to hospital, I am guessing it is collecting dust.

Pro tip:
Dental floss makes great button thread. Of course I'm talking about the old fiber style that actually works for cleaning teeth, and not the slip tape that provides PFAS and aggravation.

Anyone remember Till Tequila?

She was one of the early faces of social media and reality shows around 20 years ago. I remember thinking "she should do porn".

Well - She DID do porn. Am I the last person on the face of the earth to become privy to this information?

God, I'm slow.
