Any plans for the cedar wood? I guess you're talking about eastern red cedar?

They're weeds here. I move and keep some as hedges, windbreaks, ornamentals or critter habitats.

I've spotted about 10 new sprouts popping up around the yard this Spring.

I tried cutting disks out of a few trunks awhile back as aromatics for drawers and closets, but they don't really last very long.

Yea, they're weeds everywhere, but they're my favorite native conifer. It's a pioneer species. They're one of the first trees to populate a field. You can rejuvenate the scent by adding cedar oil. It's a little spendy. but a little goes a long way...

Cedar also makes a nice jul tree. It's a little unorthodox, but it smells great, and the slender form fits nicely in corners.

Big leaf maples are the weeds here (well, outside the forest, anyhow). There was a 15' sapling growing basically right at the property line, I asked my neighbor how he felt about it, he asked how I felt about it, I told him I don't want to have to rake up after it when it's grown. Turns out he was also interested in it being gone and he volunteered to take it down himself. So the only tree on the property I find myself needing to rake up after is a Japanese maple, and that's acceptable.

It's nice to have a grassy patch in the yard to kick a ball around with a kid.
And I do live across the street from a literal forest, so I doubt I'm really hurting the insect population by raking up a 30' circular area of leaves from a non-native tree I also don't bag/dispose of them, I just put them in a big mound on top of invasive English ivy or Himalayan blackberry to discourage their growth.
I don't rake the area under the cherry plum or apple trees.

This is weird. Between glass block and another decorative window, I get this on a wall in the late afternoon/early evening when the Sun is setting. It only shows like this for a few minutes and only on clear days. Picture didn't pick up the rainbow effect.

Battery. The word you're looking for is battery. This isn't the only company to call a battery bank a "generator", and it really annoys me. There's decades of calling ICE powered devices "generators" in the consumer market. Calling a battery bank a generator adds confusion. Battery banks don't generate anything. They store energy, and distribute it as needed.

Aside from that, my new solar rig seems to be working well. Partly cloudy today, but the battery's slowly getting charged.

The smaller 'slider' size versions make great mini-pizzas. A little sauce, a little cheese, a single slice of pepperoni, a few minutes in the toaster oven.
