Pretty sure I saw a Fox yesterday, but I was driving and couldn't get a good look. Right size, right color, pointed ears and long bushy tail.

Don't recall ever seeing one before.

Fox can look a lot more mottled this time of year. The one that was harassing the cats confused me a little. It was pretty tall, and the color seemed off to me, but otherwise, looked like "fox". I wondered if they could hybridize with coyote(they can not). After looking it up online, it's definitely fox getting rid of it's winter coat.

It was trying to steal their food, and the fucker stole their water bowl, and pooped next to the food dish one night. Spot does a pretty good job of running it off though, as long as she's around to to see it.

It appears to be a stand alone device, but there is some confusing wording in the quick start guide. Something about needing an optional/extra-cost device if you don't want to have a PC running at all times to manage it.

It has two modes, standalone and controller. Standalone, you can manage it using WebUI. This is how most routers are managed anyway. It has a Controller mode that requires installation of software on Windows. You don't need this mode unless you WANT to control the router using some fat software that eats your RAM and CPU cycles. Just go with Standalone mode.

I understand that. I 'manage' my modem/router that way.

But the quick start guide implies that it's necessary to have a PC running full time for it to work, not just to log in to make changes.

I haven't pulled down the full user guide yet though.

I think it's going back. I'm not net-smart enough to mess with it.

All of my stuff is 192.168.x.x and it doesn't seem to want to let me use that. It seems to want to force something like 192.168.y.x and I have no intention of re-numbering all of my devices.

Walmart's trying to get me back on their phone plan...

Screenshot_20240730-151821.png

Wow! A whole $5 off for a single month! They're going all out to get my business :^D I don't see how that could be attractive to anyone. If I'm going through the hassle of switching phone plans, the value of the new plan is waaay over $5. For poor people who probably have outsized presence on walmart phones, they don't have the money for phone service, and $5 isn't gonna help. A free month, or $5 off every month for a year would get some attention. Not from me, but that could be useful to someone.

I wish I knew the story behind this picture. Nobody dresses like this for any office I've ever been in. But given the clipboard, ID badge and background, she may be a Booth Girl at some sort of convention.

Businesses will do anything to attract potential customers, especially shady ones.

I've had two filipino salesgirls get uncomfortably close to me in supplement shops (one was GNC) where I was taken aback by their close proximity to me and just wanted to shout, "Nothing about being so close to me feels wrong to you???".
