Ever notice how some of the reddit subforums have control freaks as mods and pages of rules to the point where you can't even post a topic? I don't mean anything spammy, controversial, prejudiced, nor foul language, etc, , just not the level of orwellian doublespeak they insist upon. I called them out on that, and got banned.

Can't say that I'll miss being in that subforum now that I realize how ridiculous their rules were... things like "don't state what someone should do, state what you have done".... like if someone has a dead car battery, you can't tell them they should check the battery and charging system, can't direct an answer towards something they ought to do, instead have to phrase it like "I had a dead car battery and this is what I did". That is but one example, I stopped reading their pages of rules the moment I realized it's not a forum I want to participate in.

Reddit just plain sucks. It's 4chan for people who think they're too sophisticated(lulz) for 4chan. It's a fantastic example of why democracy is bad. Funnily enough, you posted an example of why dictatorships are bad. Everything sucks! :^D

There's probably communities in there somewhere that are pretty cool, but I haven't found them. "Acceptable" is the best I've come across, and not many at that. I don't participate much. I mostly just read.

Matthew McConaughey is kind of turning into a Joel Osteen type of life coach. I like some of his acting, but who would pay him to tell you how to think and live?

Effin' Amazon! I like peanuts. Buy them locally, have bought off Amazon previously too.

However, this time I bought the amazon listing of Planters peanuts with the good stuff on them, you know, the onion powder, paprika, garlic, and other (undisclosed) "spices" version.

They don't taste sweet at all, but apparently someone at amazon has decided that since there is a trace amount of sugar in the ingredients, this qualifies them as candy so they are taxed, while I can buy them at any local store and they are not taxed.

I'd just as soon not have Planters add any sugar, because I don't want/need that, just the other flavor enhancers, but amazon seems to want any excuse... I wonder if they will really pay my state taxes on this or if it's just some scam.

I find all the "main" subs tend to be pretty bad. They rule with an iron fist. I'm a mod on an /r/Canada_sub/ and we more or less only delete troll or spam etc. I'm new and half the time don't really know what I'm doing but I really try to avoid deleting posts unless it's blatant trolling or spam.
It's hilarious all the "misinformation" reports on opinion posts though. People will report stuff if they don't agree with it. I think that's partially why the main subs are so bad for that, mods will just ban you if they get reports on you without bothering to look at context.

Tomorrow's gonna suck. Did a bunch of physical stuff today, ladders, scaffolds, roof. Already feeling it. Tylenol PM down the hatch.

I'll be lucky to be able to stand up tomorrow.

"The only true constant in the universe... is suffering."

I decided that I was wrong my whole life for "caring". All that did, was allow others to take advantage of me, and for narcissists to hook me in. No more.

I renounced every moment that I had ever expressed love for my Mother.

I might even turn full-blown Republican again. At least then I can shit on others with impunity, being an older, straight, white guy.

But it seems to me, intellectually, if I no longer give a shit, that means that I shouldn't waste my time with doing anything negative (nor positive) towards others.

Edit: Does that make me a libertarian Stoic? Or a Satanist? Or both? LOL.

Why are Euro cans 330ml? Is there some relevance to that number that makes it better than 333(⅓L)? 333 also makes it close 11.25oz, which is nicer looking than 11.2.

There's this certain BIRD that has developed a habit of being in a tree right next to my bedroom window then tweeting its arse off before dawn, waking me too early which has become even more of an issue, the earlier in the morning that dawn comes.

Don't know what kind of bird, never see any making same chirp sound once it's light out.

I tried ear plugs but that traps too much humidity, and don't think noise cancelling headphones would work well either, in-ear buds would again trap humidity and cans would be too bulky.

I'm thinking that I should try some kind of room speaker generated white-gray-something-color noise track to mask that. Maybe I should record the bird and make a track of that playing all night, maybe use an audio editor to make it a bit less annoying, less chirpy, slower and longer peak volume rhythm.

Cuz Americans are the only ones that care about ounces?

Doesn't answer why 330. It's just a random number that's close to ⅓, but isn't. Add 3ml, and you're exactly ⅓ using whole numbers.

If I had to guess I would have figured it just had to do with tooling and how cans are made and then it would make it end up with oddball numbers. Then again you'd think it would be the same number across the board as the cans are probably all made in the same factory in China.

This was in the comments...

330 ml=33 cl

I didn't really think about cl cause it's a non typical measure. That equals ⅓ if you're rounding to tenths. I guess Euros can't math, or they're trying to rip everyone off to the tune of 3ml/container. If you're displaying 3 digits, 3 digits should be used throughout, and calculations should be using at least one greater than that.

huh? you are thinking in terms of ounces again. the can in Europe is 330ml. Soft drinks are a lot more expensive in Europe to start with. And the volume is marked on the can, so I don't know what you mean by rip off.

I mean it should be 333ml cause symmetry and logical order is good. That's what separates us from stupid fucking dogs. Add .01€ to the cost, and put the proper fucking amount in the can. You can even use the same can cause 3ml will still fit.

edit:
Oh, and calculating tenths and displaying hundredths is incorrect at best, and fraudulent at worst.

Just give it up. Products have different sizes in different markets.

So Euros can't do math. Got it.

Your precious US Customary Unit has been defined in SI since the 19th century. That is how pig headed you guys are.

By your own logic, American men are girly cuz American beer size is smaller than European.

LoL you think they make the empty can parts, bring it to NA then fill it and finish making the can?

Hahahhahahhaa

I could be wrong as I never actually looked cans up specifically but lot of products are like that and I wouldn't be surprised, there's lot of stupidity and gross inefficiencies in this world. We buy oil from Saudi Arabia when we have oil here, just as an example.

^ But isn't our buying oil because if TSHTF (WWIII) we want to have all our reserves in case foreign supplies get cut off?

You clearly don't even know what the discussion's about. I'm talking about 330ml cans. They either fraudulently add a place of precision to the size, or completely lack a sense of beauty, harmony, and symmetry. So which is it?

I guess 365.25 days in a year must really grind your gears.

No, but 28 fucking days of February does. There's 31 day months that could have had a day taken to boost February.

edit:
If two 31 day months gave a day to February, the year would be laid out symmetrically aside from leap years. You can tell it was developed by Europeans.
