So what do you do for a living.

Oh . . . umm, I'm a bender.

That's pretty generic. What do you bend?

Well, bananas mostly.

It's amazing how little ash come out of a wood stove compared to how much wood went in. I loaded the stove with numerous logs over two and a half days. Some were quite heavy. 18-24" diameter white Oak split multiple times to yield 3-4" diameter wedges, some a bit larger. Stove was packed nearly full several times.

I shoveled out about a half a standard metal mop bucket of ash.
That's funny, my first thought reading that was "why doesnt ash burn?".

In the past those sort of questions would have been gone without answers - like tears in the rain. But today we got AI. I love AI.

Crossed $1000 yes????
LOL no, we're an old school punk band playing dive bars (and this was a Tuesday show, not a big crowd, door money gets split between 3 bands and the sound guy). We did get a free drink too though, and the booker said he already has some other shows in mind for us (he hadn't heard/seen us before but I have a decent reputation).
I'm working on getting my folk band's set list up to three hours so we can play the farmer's market, I think we might pull in $500 from that. There's a lot more money in gigs like that (wine bars, brewpubs, etc) playing other people's songs than there is in playing niche original music.
