ccording to the pics on Newegg, the card should have the five mounting holes around the ram chips for mounting aftermarket coolers. The one I picked up at BestBuy does not. Does anyone else have the same issue with theirs?!

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, the part numbers are the same, but the PCB on my card is is of a different design than the one shown on newegg. According to mine, it says "SFPX71 REV: D3" in the top right hand corner of the card.

EDIT #2: The card I got is the same as the one shown on eWiz.com

My card is already in my machine so I haven't looked, but I wouldnt' be too concerned. Those mounting holes look like they're for the coolers found on Geforce 6800 series cards, which cover the RAM. Most aftermarket coolers I've seen cover the GPU only, with perhaps separate stick-on RAM heatsinks. The exception would be Arctic Cooling Silencer series, but not only do I not know of one which works with the 7900GS card (unless a modded 7800GT unit works as it does on a 7900GT), they only use the GPU mounting holes.

So, as long as the mounting holes next to the GPU are like all other cards, then you should be okay.

I ordered mine online saturday, and picked it up yesterday. Had a hassle w/ the employee saying that they didn't have to match online prices... "But I ordered it... ORDERED IT online!" Stupid, stupid people. Nevertheless, I got is for $157 out the door. Thanks OP

I also had a hassle with an order pickup. Ordered a TV stand and some speaker stands on Saturday online (online-only pricing). The Best Buy site indicated that both were in stock at the local store. Yesterday got emails saying that the speaker stands were ready for pickup, but the TV stand was OOS. Go there today to pick up stands and they couldn't find it. Wasted about 10-15 minutes. I could have just walked in, grabbed them (I knew where they were and there were about 5 sets in stock) and checked out in under 5 minutes. :|

Picked one up. Forgot to bring the coupon but didn't want to drive back/forth again. Still a good deal, just not as good. Replaced an XFX 7600GT 590/1600. My 3DMock06 went from 3509 to 4161. Not bad for going from absolute fastest 7600GT to absolute slowest 7900GS. Fan revs up a couple of times on POST, then settles down to a suprisingly low noise level. Kicks up again during 3DMock, but I've had a different 7600GT that was noisier. Temps seem okay, in the 50º range at idle, up to the 70º range in 3DMock.

My 3DMARK06 is 8229. That's why I sold my 7950GX2 and bought a 8800GTX,which should be here in 2 days. My rig was just too slow for Oblivion.

Was thinking about returning my PNY and getting this one, not sure about that though? Any opinions?

I prefer the 7900GS @ $149 over the x1950pro @ $199. My games right now (Company of Heroes, COD2) run MUCH faster on the 7900GS, and then you have to realize you can overclock the 7900GS even more (I'm at 550/1500 right now on the PNY card).

The only thing the x1950pro might have over the 7900GS is if future games REALLY start to need the pixel processing power. But, I think by that time we'll all be on DX10 with new cards anyway. The x1950 just wasn't worth the money to me on my "aging" 939 system.
