Thats some farked up stuff...

Looks like he could sue best buy for false arrest, trumped up charges, libel and the like..

Would settle for an apology from the manager and one free video card...

<< How would it be fraud? All he was doing was showing that another Best Buy honored the price. >>

If it was fake, it's fraud. Who's to say he didn't Photoshop it and bring it in?

<< The all black cops adds to the story in no way. >>

Especially since most of the cops here in Atlanta are black....woulda been the same guys helping him on the side of the road if his car broke down. This guy was just pissed off and racial overtones tend to bubble to the surface in time like that for the intellectually challenged.

Of course he's forgetting that the BB managers who made the call and set him up were probably white.😉

WTH??? You have to be booked to be arrested, and it would be slander and not libel. He was just brought into the station, he wasn't charged with anything. If anything he could sue for false imprisonment, but he'd most likely lose.

<< So I guess this guy printed a receipt up from the net and tried to PM with it? You know I can see in fact how that could be considered fraud... >>

The question is the legitimacy of the receipt.

<< If this is true, and this guy has half a brain and an attorney, Best Buy is in deep do-do. I see all kinds of FREE things in his future. I wonder if it is true though. >>

Good Gawd this guy is going to be rich. You forgot about civilrights violations and kidnapping! Even the lady at jail said best buy was changing thier story. Ireally hope he saves his reciepts and not only sues BB but the manager personally.

Yep personally I think he should get a letter of apology from the CEO of bestbuy, a one hour all inclusive spending spree, a tv spot on fox with his own show, and at least $15 million in compensation.

gee sounds like he tried to comit fraud to me. Granted arresting him was a little much but they had stated they already had a few people try it already so they were a little upset.

IF he try's to sue i dont really think he has much of a case. but hey BB might settle out of court for some gift cards! heh never know

Oh not only did the guy try and commit fruad he is a racists also. sad to see it around still 🙁

Question answered here.

<< If I wanted to get arrested at a Best Buy, it would not involve a PM. It would involve a BM 😉 >>

lmao.

<<

<< **Side note** What do the officers/lady being black have to do anything?? >>

I hear that sh!t all the time here in Alabama, "blah, blah, blah, blah and she was black!"

WTF? My mother-in-law does this a lot and I hate it.
>>

Welcome to the good 'ole South, damn racists!

Glad I don't live in AL anymore.
>>

I heard more racist jokes when I was living in Wisconsin for 4 years than I ever heard at home in Dallas.

Next thing you know the police will start pulling them out of cars and beating them with billy clubs....😉

<<

<< IF this is true, Best Buy can be sued for false arrest (and I wish him luck). >>

Boy that would ROCK.
>>

He wasn't arrested. He was never booked and never charged.

On my own side note, in reading the web site posted with the receipts, I've never seen so much greed before in my life.

Well I'd say that PM'ing the GF4 is now going to be the least of BB's problems. 😉
False arrest and public humiliation are $$$ lawsuits

God, I'm glad I don't work in retail anymore so I don't have to deal with some of these BB customers... especially all that whining going on in the HardOCP forums..

I heard more racist jokes when I was living in Wisconsin for 4 years than I ever heard at home in Dallas.

That's cause thier are no Blacks in Wisconsin to kick whities a$$ when he starts talking SH!T.

Yep a lot of misdirected effort.

I'm not saying the receipt was legit or not but if I personally wanted to take any best buy receipt and scan it in and change the numbers in photoshop without too long I coudl have a perfectly looking printed up version. It is a legitimate concern.

You cannot have someone arrested then claim you told them to leave the store and they refused and be legal.

He was never booked or charged. You can have police remove you from the store for attempting fraud, which was the original reason. Best Buy making stuff up later doesn't change the original, and valid, reason he was removed from the store.
