Please your help is needed to stop an atrocity from happening

Iam copying this message posted in another forum because this needs the attention of eveyone it can.
Iam sure most of you
have heard of Mathew Shepard if not in short
He was beaten to death for being gay.

For those of you who may not know, Rev. Fred Phelps is planning to
erect a memorial in downtown
Casper, Wyoming -- Matt's hometown. Sadly, though, it is a memorial
against Matt's memory.
The monument will be no memorial. Phelps says the monument would be 5 to 6 feet tall and made of marble or granite. It would bear a bronze plaque bearing the image of Shepard and have an inscription reading "MATTHEW SHEPARD, Entered Hell October 12, 1998, in Defiance of God's Warning: 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination.' Leviticus 18:22."

This is the same guy who made his children run a marathon permanently giving them soft-tissue problems for the rest of their lives. He's also a homophobic jackass.

There are no words to describe what a loser this Phelps guy is. What is he so afraid of that he goes to all this trouble to let the world know he hates gay people?
 
I say let him erect the statue.





Then let someone else destroy it 🙂. See how many get destroyed before he gives up.

I say let them do it as long as everyone who approves it, works on it, and the jackass who's idea it was puts their name on it. Let it be a testament for all the hatred and ignorance in this world.

Agreed. He's just another one of "those" types of religious people that do nothing other than to make themselves and their beliefs look extremely stupid. And for the record, I'm not bashing christianity, I'm bashing the wackjobs that distort the hell out of it to fit their agenda.

 
Fred Phelps threatened to come to my college and protest against us because he believed that we had become "a cesspool of homosexual semen" and no longer stood for our ideals. The university sent him a fax saying that they would arrest him if he came on campus or on the nearby streets. He never came 🙂
 
Seems like this guy is using religion to do his bidding.

What a lamer, it is this kind of people giving Christianity a bad name.

EXACTLY WHAT is your motivation for trying to change focus of this thread?? So you disagree with his use of the word Atrocity, SO WHAT. none of the rest of us GIVES A FLYING FVCK what you think.

the fact is, this Phelps moron SHOULD NOT BE allowed to do what he wants to do here.

imho threads like this give phelps WAY too much airtime. News articles, protests, threads... etc. How much attention is given to a lunatic?


I think the best way to get him to shut up and go away is if everyone ignored him completely.

I definatly disagree the only way to make things go the way you want is NOT to ignore it and hope it goes away.
The best way is to make yourself heard.
Thats the problem today Gay people are told to be quiet and not say anything nobody needs to know

If the congregation of that organization wants to erect a monument to their own foolishness, I saw let them, and let them endure the consequences of their actions as well.
 
I am not saying that gays need to be quiet. I don't care what anyone does in the bedroom. to each his own.

what i am saying is that if some fool wants to put up a statue ..well, as long as it is on his own property.... imho , if everyone ignored him, no one went to see, or gave him airtime, bandwidth or rigamaroll .. he would find himself very lonley and no one to harass.

My fear is that with all this fuss it will start all the crazy debates about sexuality, religion and freedom of speech. Much better to not give this guy the satisfaction of paying him any attention.

Not trying to start a fight here but that statement always really gets to me
people always say that I don't care what you do in your bedroom.
being GAY is not just about being in the bedroom.
Not to mention that with every breathe a hetrosexual has they tell everyone every day what they do in they're bedroom
all they have to do is say here are my 2 kids and you know what they did at least twice and if a man says wow look at those hooters
you know can almost guarentee he's straight and we know what goes on in his bedroom .
But the second a homosexual says what they are it's OH dont tell me that i don't care waht you do in your bedroom.
