Isn't it in the Bible that gay people are going to Hell?

or that it's a sin to be with a same sex?

The issue is not the biblical disagreement with the sin, it is the man's unconscionable disrespect for the atrocity that was this young man's death.

In my opinion (although not on the same scale) it would be comparable to a person putting a similar statue in the middle of Auschwitz against Jews (using a NT quotation, of course).

This is the same Bible that advocates pimping your daughter as an acceptable method for defending against the homosexual advances of another... (from the story of Lot)

This is the same guy who made his children run a marathon permanently giving them soft-tissue problems for the rest of their lives. He's also a homophobic jackass.

Really? He made his kids do that? Damn what a tool.

I say let him erect the statue.

Then let someone else destroy it 🙂. See how many get destroyed before he gives up.

Edit: I signed. But do those online petitions actually do anything?

Haha, great plan.

For many people ...homosexuality is wrong. many feel that it is not only unnatural, but a sin. a percentage of them act really horribly to gays every chance they get. many of those people don't want to have to choose sides, and dont want to be dragged into something that they dont want to have to vote on. I suppose they feel that as long as it is not pushed in their face, they just dont wanna get invloved. Perhpas because if they did, they would have to voice an opinion that gays don't want to hear.

It is my opinion that it is best not push people into voicing certain opinions.

As for me personally... I am a christian. My religion tells me that it is wrong. It also tells me that it is not my place to judge. That is between each person and their God. Having said that, I do not agree that homophobia is called for on the level it is shown all too often.

No fights here. To each his own.

Pretty much yeah. If this guy wants to believe the gay guy is going to hell, that's fine with me, but you don't have to point it out with a statue of the guy. Does he go around pointing at fat people and yelling out "FATASS!" or come up behind a kid in a wheelchair and stick a sign on the back of his chair saying "I'M A RETARD"? Fat people are fat, retarded people are retarded, but you have to have some tact and sensitivity. Actually, it's less than that. It's more like common decency. There's no real thinking required, it's just something people should know.
